Glitch In Downloading Source Code Of App

While reading goNorthwest's instructions (https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Compiling_Your_Android_Application_v1.0.pdf) on importing project into eclipse, I was under the impression that 8 total folders will be downloaded. So, after downloading the source code, only 7 folders appear, and the root doesn't look anything similar to the example in gonorthwest's instructions. I opened eclipse and continued to try to "import" by using an existing project option, as directed by gonorthwest's directions. But eclipse is not recognizing the "root" file that I downloaded from buzztouch. Basically, its unable to import the source code. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

are you using file /new / project in next screen (new project) in the android folder android project from existing source. after the next next drag the folders descripted in your eclipse under bt_activity root. right click bt activity root and select properties. select the google 2.2 or 2.3.3 (not the android version) in android (project build target) also set the java compiler (a few rows below)to enable project specific settings and set the 1.7 to 1.6 press apply to rebuild workspace that should be all.

Hey @HowAreYou, I think I understand your problem and had same problem when I first started. Create a new folder, with nothing else in there, and unzip your BT project in there. Go to project with existing code and just click on that folder and it will pick up the "root" for you. Hope this helps. LA

Hello! First, welcome to buzztouch! Your assets folder should have various BT_Whatever folders in them, but they will indeed be empty. That's not a problem. Here's what I always do when I start a new project: * Download the zip file somewhere you'll know where it is. * Unzip it. That'll create a folder that has 7 subfolders, along with several other files. * In Eclipse, go to Import > Existing Android Project (or something like that...doing it from memory) * Navigate to the folder that got created when you unzipped your project. That's the root folder. * Hit OK, and your project should now be in Eclipse! Here's a video tutorial that shows all the steps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV3Ofi2602I Mark
