Help and guidance on this please issue please :)

A big Hello to all the BuzzTouch gang community here on the forum... I have decided to build my first app yesterday...as I am still finding where things are at and stumbling through the website, I managed to set up a layout with a 3 tabs and about screens for testing purposes so I can see how they look like when viewed through the iPhone IOS simulator ... I followed all the instructions on the videos and the PDF's and then downloaded the source code...Unzipped the folder and Dragged and added the mentioned 5 folders , after I managed to open the folder in Xcode...about 20 sec or so later the IOS simulator appeared with all the tabs and the few screens I set up earlier for testing purposes. All good so far...but the problem I started facing after this, was every time I edited or changed the information on one of the screens in BuzzTouch and tried to refresh the page using the refresh button on the Simulator, I started getting the Message "There was a problem downloading some data. Check your internet connection then try again" I tried to refresh it again a few times but kept getting the same message over and over again. My internet connection is fine as I was able to use the internet before, during and after the IOS simulator was refreshing itself... I thought that I may have messed something up with the initial process, so I decided to delete the project Folder which contained all the source code, so I proceeded to delete all the files and folders in Xcode and on my computer as well. I re-read all the instructions and downloaded the source code this time with a different set of tabs and and screens. The IOS Simulator appeared again with the NEW set of Tabs and Screens. Which is great, but when I tried to refresh the app again, I kept on getting the same Message over and over again... I tried to look around the Forum to see if this is a common Error Message but could not find anything on that topic... Does anybody know what is causing this issue here? Any guidance or help is very much appreciated... Cheers and all the best, John

Hi John, Welcome! Try doing a sync with your config. file then do a project clean and refresh. Let's see if that helps first. LA

Your welcome John. Click on your App in buzztouch control panel and you will see to the left "Configuration Data." After you click on that copy the data, but don't change anything, and go to your folder on your computer. Under "assets" folder, you will find "BT Config", then paste the copied data in there, after u delete what's inside, and save it. Then project-clean project. LA

Most of the time you see the "There was a problem downloading....." error, its usually looking for something that you said would be in the binary that isn't there. For example, if you gave the control panel a document name for a PDF screen, but didn't drag the PDF into Xcode before compiling, you would get that error. Same thing for images, sounds, videos, etc.

Hi again LA and hello Stobe which I think it's Chris right? As I just watched the webinar from this morning my time, really good info there... Here is the Message... You can see it here on the website I am creating the app for http://aboriginalfineartgallery.com/artists/ronni-tjampitjinpa/ simply click on the small blue image to see a close up. @LA I am sorry but could not follow the instructions as I could not paste anything in the folder...I know it's my fault and not your instructions... @Chris I think you may have detected what the problem is, as I have about 10 screens which are not assigned to anything and I may have confused 1 x screen with another as I have 2 maps on the Gallery screen which you can see in the attached image...Plus I am using the Plugin "Menu with Image" and I have also used the "Menu Simple" as well with it and I may have confused the whole thing in the process... I will try and deleted all screens and start again. Thanks LA and Chris for your prompt support. I will keep you posted to what happens. Cheers and all the best, John

welcome! @juancito One thing I have noticed is that when you are new and learning- You'll probably add a lot of screens and also delete them as you try to understand. When you delete screens, if they are linked to a menu, or if you use the same name for a screen (which BT does allow depending on how/where you enter them, it's sort of a bug)) because 2 screens with the same name really confuses things. Look at your screens using the list view and make sure no dupes. Check and make sure all your menu items still point to screens.

No problem - we all learn from experience! I've stared at that same error box for a few hours trying to find the fix. Stick around - maybe a year from now you'll be helping someone having the same problem. That's how I learned :)
