Plugin question

Hi guys I am thinking about creating a customisable soundboard plugin. I wanted to check something before I start. I will use a nib file for the view and will have it load several uibuttons. What I wanted to know is do the buttons need to have customisation ability in the Cpanel or can an enhanced set of instructions of how to customise in the nib file be used? It is not difficult to do and would give the end user much more flexibility than pre populated Cpanel. Many thanks in advance

The idea of a plugin is so it can be controlled from the control panel. If you hardcode the buttons then it stops the app from being able to add sounds live, the app would need to go back to the App Store for review. Personally I don't think this is a major issue but it may be to others.

You'd be able to add the sounds, they would be in the Cpanel, what I mean and failed to explain very well was the ui, so how the button appears.

yeah, so you can change the shape of the button, images, text. But you still wouldn't be able to add/remove buttons from the control panel. You could say it is static 8 button screen

I think if you were to do it make it for example 8 sound buttons. then have eight tabs in the control panel that you could customise add image labels text, use x y coord to move them and resize them. It is alot more hard work but very doable and will make the screen truely customisable, especeially now we have design mode, people could tweak the coords to their hearts content

I currently have a plug in under review with Dave and Susan sort of similar to this... just a 12 button home screen menu using xib files (incl landscape for iPad). We're working on getting the links for the buttons hooked up to the control panel but leaving everything else (pictures, text, font, colors, etc) hardcoded to the xib files so the user can just manipulate as they see fit. It may not be perfect for some beginners but think it'll give the more advanced users a great template to customize as they see wish! Should hopefully be out by next week! Josh

Is this a soundboard? If so I'll steer clear :)
