Any one having problems with data not syncing with control panel? I just spend 2 hours trying to sync my control panel with project to emulator. I synced the config file, project clean, refresh, and even created a new emulator. LA

@LA, Yes! It's started happening with my self hosted control panel. Everything is synched, but I still get the refresh pop up on the apps first load. Happens at every stage of testing, from emulator to google play. Annoying. Maybe a plugin's causing it? I was going to try and investigate but other things take over..

Thanks for the heads up. Was having problems connecting to some docs on self hosted CP. BT website control panel was working fine.

Not going nuts just yet! lol! Don't suppose you're using the quiz plugin? Some odd behaviour has been reported recently - not saving data consistently.

Hmm. Just did some updates on old 1.5 apps and on self hosted, all working well. So this post is no help at all. Tested published apps with quizzes and unpublished apps with self hosted quiz, no issues.

@MacApple, I'm trying to use Tabbed Layout and it's not picking up the second tab or even my next screen on top nav. bar. LA

I guess I should say I'm experiencing similar difficulties along with raveyd. I'll finish. I'll copy my config from my BT Server and paste into my local app. Run it. The first thing it wants to do is update. I 'think' all my data is current. I am using the Quiz plugin, but I haven't found any quirks in it specifically. Cheers! -- smug

@SmugWimp, Don't think it's anything to do with the quiz now. I just set up a new project, downloaded it to eclipse and tested by deleting the plugin files one at a time from eclipse and server control panel, synching the config and deleting the app from the emulator each time. I ended up with an app just with a simplemenu home screen and was still being prompted to refresh. So maybe something's changed in the core files at BT's end?

Hey @raveyd, You can delete plugin java and xml files that you don't need in Eclipse? LA

Are you updating the config with the live/design mode settings? (i.e., do you have a red dot or a green dot?)

@LA, yes, you can remove the ones you don't want (and the activity from the manifest), but bear in mind, if you want to use one of the plugins in the app at a later date you'll need to redownload the project, drag the new plugin files into the project and re-sign the apk to update in google play. On the plus side, it can make the apk a lot smaller, and presumably more efficient. @Stobe, in my case, I'm using self hosted and don't have that option yet.

Still the same this morning. My config data says it's in Design mode. Still not downloading my screens I have in the App. Either adding screens or taking away. Can't do anything until this is solved. LA

This is strange. I'm not seeing anything on this end that would cause this. But, like @Stobe's mentioning, I wonder if it's something to do with the Live / Design mode feature and a misunderstanding of how it should work? To make matters a bit more complicated...the apps behavior will be different depending on whether or not it's project files understand what Live / Design mode is in the first place. Assuming the project DOES understand Live / Design mode (meaning you've downloaded the project after this feature was introduced), the app will download the config.txt data you see in the control panel for Live or Design mode depending on the "currentMode" value in your project. The only way to be certain, 100% of time, as to what's happening is to use the Output Console to show you where the app is pulling it's data from. There are lots of possibilities and it's always best to make sure you understand what data it's using. The options are... 1) The data from the config.txt file in the project because it does NOT include a dataURL or a reportToCloudURL 2) A cached version of the data from your control panel because it DOES use a dataURL and a reportToCloudURL 3) A fresh version from the control panel. In all cases, you can see where it's reading this data by looking at the Output Console with the device or simulator running. Clear the console, launch the app, it will show you what data it's reading.

greeting I have the same problem and only on Android, the application does not update (no updates menus) and html not download?. It may be the blank quiz or plugin?. I suggest you can try?. Note: Another old app I have if properly updated. I hope I can help and thanks in advance

If you want to 'force' an update on Android, don't delete the app, but go to your applications manager, select your app and 'delete the data'. If you do that, it will 'revert' to the app state as it was first downloaded, and it will then update with the latest config available. Hope this helps Cheers! -- Smug

No no... don't do that. I mean in the device, or in the device simulator. Tap on the "settings", and select "application manager". then select the app in question. Along with other information, there (usually) are buttons that allow you to uninstall the app, force stop (kill) the app, or delete the application data. Delete the Application data ONLY. That will delete all the cached information in your app, and when you launch it again, it will force a refresh. Don't mess with your buzztouch control panel. This is all on the device. Had to revisit this problem as I'm working on some updates. The app is still prompting for a refresh even though the config files are synced.
