Developers device

Watching a previous webinar, specifically the one about future push notifications, it shows an option to just send to "developers device". With the new awesome upgrade feature of live vs design mode is there a way to designate my personal android phone as the developing device so I can see the changes on my phone before I publish the new changes. I would like to see it on my phone as well as or instead of the emulator. Thanks, howard

Yea it did, I saw it part of the push notification segment, but made me think outside of the push to see if there is something like that available for just design? not sure if that makes sense, or in fact it is just an ios thing. h-

Hey @hasher13, With the "debug" in the Android Manifest, you can export your APK file and test it right on your Android device. LA

Thanks LA, even with published signed apps? And i would have to reload/reinstall the "debugged" version on my phone when I change things?

Not sure on the published one but I believe you might be able to do it as an update. But again, I'm not sure about this. LA

Hey @hasher13, Also if you are trying to do this with an App already published in Google Play then I believe the Live/Design mode will not work for that particular app. LA

App id's for push are hardcoded into code, so any push with android cant be bypassed with live/design mode, I believe push is either on or off.
