Ready to Accept New Plugin Submissions

We are now ready to accept new plugin submissions. I am very excited to see what you all have been working on during the last few months! Keep in mind that the rules have changed--the new plugins you submit must be complete. I should have a checklist for you in a couple of days that will help you make sure you have all of the pieces. I am still working through the backlog of plugins and I have been communicating with the developers on the status of their plugins. Please contact me if I have inadvertently missed yours and haven't been in communication with you. We do have a nice set of plugins that should be available within a week or so. The best thing you can do to make sure your plugin is complete and loading properly is to reload it back on to your self-hosted server. When you load it, does you control panel look the way you want your users to see it? Is the readme file in place? Are you screen shots displaying? Then, after the control panel is working the way you want it, create a app with your plugin and download the source code. Are there any warnings? Are there any errors? Do users need to load a framework to use your plugin, and, if so, is that clear in your instructions? Part of my job will be to arrange for training and to help us all build bigger and better plugins. In particular, I know we all need training on the control panel and on Android. The control panel is relatively easy to do in comparison with the Xcode and Eclipse, but it does get very tricky when creating something with child items. It may be a bit more fantasy than reality, but I would love to see us working in teams on plugins. Maybe one person on the team does Android, another the iOS, and a third person the control panel. We will be fun to see what the new year brings, and I am thrilled to be leading this effort.

Fantastic news! Since the Control Panel side of the equation is common and consistent across all Plugins, a simple set of how-to documentation will be very helpful for the PHP aspects. Thanks! -- Niraj

Thank you Susan @Buzztouch! One of my problems, with the control panel, is creating code in already existing code..ie.the control panel. When I code, I create a fresh java and xml files to debug and make sure everything is working before putting that code into the Create Custom Plugin code. Anyone have any tips/suggestions? LA

Creating child items in the control panel has been a problem I have yet to solve. Looking forward to any pointers.

@SuVinay Pawa, just tried to send you a PM, but you don't have that set up. You can also email me at susan @ buzztouch.com. We need more Android plugins, and we especially need plugins that work on both Android and iOS.
