What code tutorials do you want?

Hi guys and gals, I'm head over heals in love with ios coding at the moment. I am constantly looking at different tutorials and trying to learn new and wonderful ways to make our apps look pretty. I've posted a few tutorials lately e.g nab bar button customisation, swipe gestures, text field stuff, custom URL. Are there any specific tutorials you guys would like regarding uicustomisation (not third party implementation. Got tonnes of that to do) I ask because I love to teach myself this code, I read apples libraries for fun now (saddo) And I like to give to the community. Ios only I'm afraid, eclipse and google make me one to eat my eye balls. That is all

@Kitty, Thank for the offer... The community could use more of your great tutorials! I am like you... Android and I have a mutual dislike! Maybe Android is your BuzzTouch New Years resolution ;)

Awesome offer Kittsy!!!!! I'm relatively new to all of this (almost a year). I've managed to get 2 apps published thanks to buzztouch and the community (free and paid of same app). I'm starting to want to tweak the code a bit just to play. Stuff like adding a calendar or something to simply add dining reservations to or a way to add an editable excel file then save the edited version to the app. The excel file is for a golf scorecard. In a previous post I received some great suggestions to use spreadsheetconverter.com and the like but I would like to keep it simple. Kind of native and natural. Just add the excel file as it is without having to do anything to it. I'm probably going about it the hard way but I've found that to be more rewarding in the end sometimes. Oh, and maybe point us in the direction of you tutorial collection. Thanks a lot for the offer!!!

Wow -- very nice of you to offer a tutorial. This comes to mind: Menu List with Header modified -- purpose is to have a Header Section that conveys information about the table data. For example, a Bus Stop would have a picture of it, a short description of it and a Timetable list. The Header section would be replaced by two "cell" sub-views: - Image view @ 50% width, same height as header image - Scrollable text or HTML view @ 50% width, same height as header image Below the new Header section, the Table list would still be a scrollable menu list. Perhaps scrolling of the Table causes the Header to also scroll out of view. Perhaps the Header is the taller first row of the Table? Height of Header is configurable via the BT Control Panel? Thanks! -- Niraj

I'd like a calendar or events page....is there anything that shows a month at a time that lets you expand on details? Another idea is a route map....like a bike trail.

@calypsi kid I read that post and I am currently making a golf score card plugin to test my ability to share integers and populate a score card. It works by each hole has it's own screen with a map of the hole. A shot changer that then works out your score against par even says birdie, eagle, bogey. It has a bottom tool bar that has the running total. Then a final screen that has the 18 hole score breakdown. It only records 1 players score, so everyone playing would need the app.

@Susan I've been working on manipulating the apps time and date to access certain screens or show certain text. So in essence you could have a screen that will only show what is happening on the actual day, that is more of a plugin though. I have a fastfood/takeaway plugin that has an open/closed button that links to the cpanel. It shows whether the shop is open in realtime. A route map is the dream I have explored various options, I am waiting for google and apple to release api's to have directions included in the mapkit, there is a guy who has created a framework but it costs $300 dollars for a one app user licence, I've played with his sample project and it appears easy enough to implement.I'll try and find the link.

I am looking to make a checklist or visual quiz- Photos (Buttons?) with tick boxes. Here is an example of a printed on paper one I made which proved very successful last year. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3433634/Quiz.pdf Have you seen anything similar, or have any ideas how to go on with this idea? Thanks. Chris

@levensgardener that would be a plugin,It sounds doable, selection of pics with buttons, square buttons blank, when pressed square buttons turns into a tick. You could knock it up yourself in interface builder. iPhone or iPad

Thanks Kittsy, I'll keep my fingers crossed someone sees this as a good idea and brings it to the plugin market. If it doesn't appear, then perhaps I will have to get my hands dirty and try some code magic...

I know you said no open-source projects on this posting. Take a look at the screenshot within this Map project, the BT Maps plugin could be modified accordingly? https://github.com/pradyumnad/Locations-with-Map The Map view occupies the upper-half of the screen while a table view of the Pins is in the lower-half of the screen. This is a nice way of showing the User the names of the Pins and even Sub-text for each Pin. Thus, the modifications would result in a combination of the Map plugin and the Menu List with Image plugin onto a single screen. Following my earlier scenario, each Bus Stop would be a Pin on the Map view and each Bus Stop would also have a row in the Table view where it's Name and Sub-Text description would be visible for tapping. A tap would then take me to the Timetable screen for that Bus Stop. Lets not stop there, why not throw-in a Thumbnail of a picture for each Bus Stop! Wow -- I just had an epiphany! The Sub-text would show the three soonest times for each Bus Stop. Now that is information at my fingertips! (Ignore that epiphany, that is a totally unique feature, not generically applicable :-) Thanks again for letting us shoot around ideas!

Wow -- we are nearly on the same thoughts! Since your modified map plugin may already suit my needs and I do not need the Directions capability, can you share the code? Thanks, -- Niraj

@Kittsy -- thanks, looking forward to receiving a zip of the Golf Card project. The Maps + TableView all-on-one screen will be a great feature for my Shuttle Bus app for personal use internally at a Company. Thanks! -- Niraj
