Best way to link database

I'm not sure if this is the correct location for this question... I want to create an app that will refer to a database of songs, what is the best way to go about this? I thought about creating a form with a drop down list, but determined that would be a very poor way of going about the process of adding a few thousand songs. I'm still new to learning databases...would I just create a database and link a screen in the app to the database URL? Any help would be appreciated!

You could create a Menu List with the Search plugin available in the store? Ed www.egapp.co.uk

Hi Ed, Thank you for the advice...I would have several thousand songs to input into the list...would that still be the best way? Is there a way to batch upload lists?

You will need to create a BTM Search Menu, and a Menu List. In the menu list, you can tell it in advanced settings where to find the data. It is under "Screen Data URL"... take a look :-) Ed www.egapp.co.uk

If you wanted use a real database as the backend I believe the following Webinar covers just that topic. I haven't seen it yet but have it queued up for future viewing. The session is by @David Book, buzztouch founder. "Integrating Apps with a SQL Database" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZkY6PTGhsA It's an advanced topic but could be worth a look.
