Im really excited to finally get playing with BT....i have a couple of projects to get under way. Just wondering , id like to run creat a button which ran a calculation based on the variables input by the user. Just after ideas, rather than solutions, cos id like to try and create it myself..... Thanks a mill!

Hi there and welcome to BT. Just said hello to another new member from Australia this morning, as I told him your in good company both down under and around the globe. I've used HTML forms before for calculations, mortgage calculator type thing and just included the doc in the project. You can of course do so much more with embedding css, js and so on in the project. Congrats on getting that first star under your name as well. Once again, welcome my good man and don't ever hesitate to shout out if you need anything at all. Ps - Always curious, how did you stumble across BT?

If your using iOS there are tonnes of tutorials that describe just that. Try stackoverflow.com, http://mobile.tutsplus.com, www.raywenderlich.com. Using html can look sweet, but doing in native code can look even funkier, once you get the hang of using xib files you can make anything. Here's a cheeky tutorial, it won't initially work in buzztouch but it will give you a clue about variables and text input. http://www.technobuffalo.com/2011/05/01/introduction-to-ios-development-lets-create-a-calculator/ Hope that helps a little

Hi @KSquared_AU, Welcome to buzztouch! Totally digging that avatar...that movie rocked! As a couple have pointed out, a combination of HTML+JavaScript would get what you want done pretty quickly. You could also do PHP, but that would require a server connection. Either way, tons of ways to make it happen. Post back if you run into problems, and we'll get them worked out! Mark

There you go buddy! @Kittsy & @GoNorthWest make great suggestions. Many stay in their comfort zone but the ones that move out, learn, experiment and get their hands dirty do well.

@KSquared_AU Welcome! You'll find there's quite a few Aussies around here. Someone started an Aussie BT Facebook page but most of the action is here in the forums :) https://www.facebook.com/BuzztouchAustralia?ref=ts&fref=ts Cheers Darrel
