buzztouch Membership Process Available

You can become a buzztouch Member now. Information about the process and benefits was posted earlier today...you can see the annual fee now. You can also become a member by completing the form. Look for some forum badges tomorrow. Neat! See Account > Membership (left side menu on account screen)

@hacerapps: Nothing. There's information in your account about this. Have a look at your Self Hosted server screen..it's the same as it was. Nobody is losing anything :-)

@Mr stuck: I guess that depends on how you look at it. And, without sounding silly...money is part of the goal but not all of the goal. Wink :-) For sure we stand to lose some revenue short term. In fact, we expect to. But..we'll all be better off long term. It's a matter of making a very very clear offer so more folks can take advantage of it if they want to. The previous offer (introduced April 2011) turned out to be super-duper confusing. Nobody wins when things aren't easy to understand. At the end of the day we need revenue...no doubt about that. But, after several years of doing this, tons of metrics, and a wonderful audience, we think we do well AND do good.

@hacerapps: I'm seeing two API keys in your control panel. One that was created last year and one that was created a few minutes ago when you became a member. When you become a member you get a new one whether you use it or not. Are you sure you're not seeing both of these in your control panel? They are both showing as "active" in the view I have. Refresh maybe?

@Kittsy: Give it a go..should work now. @Caradou: The API calls per month on Self Hosted hasn't changed. There are rare occasions when the 100 monthly limit is not enough. If you're bumping into this limit, or suspect you will, use the contact screen (Stephen) and we can work something out. This rarely happens but can sometimes.

David, that's a great deal. I'm glad I made it a resolution that 2013 would be the year I seriously put some effort into Buzztouch and actually got on with making some apps rather than just thinking about it for a change, LOL. Self hosted combined with Live/Design mode, plugins and push notifications - Buzztouch is becoming a serious bit of App development kit! Thanks David and all those who contribute so selflessly here. So glad I found Buzztouch, there's a great 'feel' to the place :)

Wow. Thanks for privilege David! I def think people like to see annual and monthy rates for memberships and to compare what kind of a discount you get. When the dust settles a more defined 'pricing' page might be helpful. When I try to recruit new folks it's nice to have all that data in one spot so they can compare. Rich PN is a great add for new members. So are some of those new controls I've seen Kittsy working on. Good stuff ahead. Thanks for letting me be a part of the fun!

@nadthevlad: Because you were an upgraded account that became a member, you'll see your monthly fee go away. You'll also get an email confirming this. If this doesn't happen in the next few days let us know. @MWFPRO: The upgrade page you're referring to should not be used. In fact, it shouldn't be available. I'll check to make sure it goes away. Thanks for the heads up.

Yep mine jumped up too? Thought we would have been given enough time to take up the membership. It will be early next week before I can pay out. Be a bit of a shame if we are getting penalized for not joining instantly. Can assure i will join as soon as i am able to do so and I don't care that I only just paid monthly fee only days ago. Hopefully we will still get the option. Over to you David!

Epicweb, Buzztouch has changed it's pricing model, instead of paying 30$ a month... Buzztouch has implemented an annual fee (currently 50$).

MWpro... I realize that the pricing model moved to the membership model. What I said in my post was that my membership price (new pricing model) on https://www.buzztouch.com/account/membership.php changed from $30 this morning to $49 now. Not sure why.. I hope david can comment on that.

Sure hope David can offer an explanation as there was no mention of any time limitations to take up the offer at that price. Otherwise It would have been a case of beg, borrow or steal to get signed up.

This is immense! If I'm reading it right, I'm going from 30 bucks a month to 50 bucks a year for a better service?! Too chuffing right I'm becoming a member!! This is a framework like no other. Thanks to David and all the major players.

I'm not complaining About the price. I'm just wondering why it was $30 for year earlier today And now it's $49 per year. I Also love buzz touch And will purchase the membership your way. I was just hoping to wait a few days to purchase it but now I'm worried that it will go up even more if I wait longer.

Yep you are reading it right. It is immense and even at the full 80 bucks a year its awesome but the price for what looks like all current paying folks was an outrageous 30 bucks but seems to have jumped to 50 now. No chance of anyone not biting the hand off David for this deal or the full price but seems strange it jumped up because we never joined there and then and no mention of any time frame to take up the deal.

Hi Guys, Chris1 is correct. There was an error in the system. The price is $50 annually. It is being offered at that price for a few more weeks to celebrate the new Membership launch. Tons of stuff going on around here we can't wait for everyone to see in 2013! Thanks for all the continued support. We value each and every one of you:) Ian

Hi Caradou, You do not need to pay for a membership. You can still enjoy BT but without the many features that a membership will bring. More apps, push notifications, live/draft mode, etc... Many many improvements are underway as we speak. (David's off coding) In the coming days you will start seeing more Membership features and Statements from BT Team Leaders. We truly appreciate your support! Ian I should probably go put on another pot of coffee for David now :)

If we do not want to become a member, will we loose our apps? I have about 15 apps with BT 2.0 + few apps with self hosted Thx

@ihatecode - If I've understood correctly, absolutely nothing will change if you choose to remain a guest...but you will be missing out on a lot of amazing new features

Exactly. Our intent with this new membership structure was to simplify the pricing structure. We didn't want to take anything away, just offer a better/easier way to deliver more.

I am a long time buzztouch user and finally David has made it easy for us to give a little back directly to Buzztouch. I just placed my order to become a Buzztouch Member and could not be happier to have done so. I'm really excited to see how Buzztouch will evolve because of the membership program and the addition of the new Buzztouch team members. Thanks!!!!! Wayne

Wow, I missed a lot in a couple of weeks+. Been busy teaching and this semester my classes are packed. I feel left out without the members badge? :)

Hey Ian, Good to see you. Yes sir, I had to evolve with the changes like the BT forum has :) The badges look tight ;). Good to see you as well.
