Error After Moving BuzzTouch Installation

Hi there, I recently moved my BuzzTouch installation to a new server. I did this by simply moving the entire folder and SQL database. Everything works great (I can login, modify apps, etc - and my Apps connect fine.) However, I have one issue: BuzzTouch gives me this error: The application's data directory on the file system does not exist? This application does not have a data directory on the file system? Does anybody know how to resolve this issue? Thank you

hmm are the permissions set correctly? same directory? also, did you update the ip address of your new server here: https://www.buzztouch.com/account/btserver.php edit and change the ip address to the correct new server ip. perhaps that will solve the problem?

When moving things between server, unless it is raw files and folders it is seldom as simple as just a drag and drop transfer. As mentioned above there will usually be permission issues, dependancies and so on that have to be considered. These things have an install process for a reason. Have you considered all settings or fresh install?

I found the issue and resolved it. The issue is the Application Install Physical Path Normally, you cannot edit the Application Install Physical Path. However, if you go to your SQL database using PhpMyAdmin, you can edit it under bt_confg table. I just edited it to the new path, and from there everything works great. Hope this helps someone who moved servers. I went from HostGator Shared Hosting to a Virtual Private Server. Not that hard to upgrade, but worth it due to having much more freedom. Thanks!

MacBoy, Virtual Private Servers provide more freedom, more resources (they're less shared than your typical shared hosting), and overall perform better in my opinion. They are, however, more difficult to manage, and a bit more expensive most of the time.

Maybe read-write permissions on directories? Was that happening when you asked BT to download the plugins? Try FTP'ing the plugins yourself onto the self-host server?
