Question about Frameworks BT 2.0 iOS

Hello Everyone. Happy Holidays! I've been playing with parse.com to enable the ability to send push notifications from my app. It's been successful so far in testing. Following the tutorials from parse.com, push notifications went without a problem on my iphone 5 running iOS 6. When i loaded it onto my first gen ipad running 5.1 it had a couple fatal errors. After looking at to run log I changed the accounts.framework and social.framework in the build phases, Link binaries with libraries section from required to optional. Now the push notifications work great on both devices. My question is....... Will this negatively affect the way my app performs or runs? I'm still new to all of this but I'm learning fast thanks to all of you and Buzztouch too! Also, is there an relatively uncomplicated way to get the little red circle with the number to show up on my app icon when I have a blog update? Thanks again Dave

Frameworks: You won't hurt anything by removing these from your project before compiling (assuming you're not using any plugins that rely on them). Example: The Tweet Sheet plugin would require that your project include the social.framework, the Save Contact plugin would require that your project include the account.framework etc. Badge: "relatively uncomplicated way" No. Doable, yet. It's a matter of figuring out how to tell your app when you have an update. It needs to "learn" this before it can change the badge and "Learning" about your latest blog post is the hangup for most folks. Technical stuff.
