Been here on and off for a while but never said a proper 'hello!'

Hey everyone, I have been a member of BT for about 6 months, but I don't think I ever said a proper hello. I am a high school student from Illinois and I have been interested in developing apps for a while. I have played around a little on and off with the awesome tools that BT offers, but I never really came up with a real app. Now I am working on making a simple app for my dad's business. While I am posting this, if anyone on here has experience with submitting apps while under 18 (minimum age to sign up as an Apple developer) years old, I have a few questions for you. Thanks! Dan

Nice one! Pleased to meet you buddy. Starting with an app for your old man's business is a great idea, means you'll care, have support and hopefully be able to further your families presence. Great seeing students chip in, good few on here have made school apps and the likes so hopefully someone chips in to assist with that question. You could always get your dad to sign up / register. All the best with it and keep us posted as you progress. Exciting times ahead. Peace and good will.

More than welcome. BT has evolved so much, even in the 6 months you have been here. With the birth of the plugin market and some seriously good developers pitching in with creations the future is extremely bright. Any chance you can use your app to get some credits in a class for school?

Thats a good thought. I will check into that. Thanks for thinking of it. First, I have to actually finish making the app though. :D

Thanks Mark. I found BT through MakeUseOf.com's article about the site. I'm very glad I did, too! :)

Welcome! For sure set-up the Apple Developer account under your dad's business. You'll need an active account to test the app on devices. You always want the client to own their Apple developer account anyway, so developing at your age is not going to be an issue. Shout if you're down in the city and want to meet-up sometime. I'm down here all day long. Check out @1871, lots of great stuff happening there, maybe attend a couple of meetings on mobile development and meet some more cool like minded folks! Cubs/Sox?

@ATRAIN53 - Thanks for the info. I called the Apple Developer Support and asked that today and that is exactly what they told me. And I appreciate the offer for meeting up downtown. I'm sure there is a lot I could learn from you, so I may take you up on it if I get a chance. And Cubs all the way! :) You?
