BuzzTouch.com is hosted with Rackspace

I noticed that BuzzTouch.com is hosted with Rackspace. 1. What Cloud Server package is BuzzTouch.com using from Rackspace? Just want to get an idea, if ever my self hosted gets as busy as BuzzTouch.com :) 2. David has suggested previously to start with Cloud Servers 512 MB and scale us as needed. How will I know when the Saver needs to be scaled up? Do I need to monitor the server for slow speed or will Rackspace send me an email letting me know to scale up? 3. Rackspace has another option called "Cloud Sites". It is more expensive at $150 per month, but the advantage is that the server never need to be scaled up or down. Rackspace does this automatically. Plus you are able to host multiple Windows or Linux website.

RackSpace is pretty expensive, as well as Amazon. I personally use a VPS and CloudFlare. http://buyvm.net/ Just setup LAMP and throw CloudFlare on your site. 100% uptime, and performance you can count on. As a comparison 2TB Bandwidth with RackSpace: $360 2TB Bandwidth with BuyVM: $5

Rackspace is pretty solid, all my primary stuff is there. No offence @Jenny21 but buyVM is crap. I have a couple of accounts for backup purposes. They are down almost on daily basis, based on the notification I receive for monitoring servers. I would never use them for primary hosting. On a side note, watch out because lights go out Jan 15. They are physically moving stuff from San Jose to Las Vegas (if you have servers on the San Jose pipeline).

Hi. I really hope some of you are still following this thread... I have just spent this weekend building my servers on rackspace so I could create my site and self-host. I was told to follow a tutorial they have for the whole process ar launch.rackspace.com that does an awesome job of walking you through the process. It bases it off of the premise that you are setting it up for Wordpress. My fanatical support agent ;) said I should follow the tutorial but not do the WordPress portion for my purposes of using it for BuzzTouch. So, my question for you guys is, now that I have my servers and load balancers and domain name all set up - where do I put BuzzTouch? Can I/should I actually install WordPress and then BuzzTouch afterwards? I am still a novice but I am learning so any and all help would be greatly appreciated - I want to become an expert eventually - just not there yet. Thanks!
