PDF/Word to HTML (with images!)?

Hey hey!! So I've been looking into converting my PDF/Word documents into HTML format in order to optimize the way these files are viewed on the iPhone/iPod devices. One question: How and where would I go about converting PDF/Word documents WITH images into a single HTML document? Any help would be greatly appreciated. ;) Thanks! Nicholas

I've started working with Adobe Creative Suite. I think Dreamweaver can convert PDFs to HTML. I'm still looking at some tutorial videos so I'm not completely sure. Creative Suite is $20 a month and includes all the Adobe products. I originally signed up for photoshop. Ryan

Could you not use th HTML doc? You can type out your PDF and add images direct to the plugin. Merry Christmas.

You can convert word documents to html in your word program itself (microsoft word, open office), choose 'save as' and select 'other formats'. Don't suppose the bloated code output will be very mobile friendly though.. Or you could use http://www.convertfiles.com/ it'll convert pdf to word and word to html online. So once the pdf conversion to word is done, you can convert the resulting word to html. Only takes a minute or two and is 100% free, but you may need to clean the files up a bit afterwards, like if you have header and footer data (like page numbers) in word they'll look ugly after conversion, but then again, they'll look ugly in any other conversion software like dreamweaver unless you're prepared to clean up the resulting code yourself. Others have offered to help, same here. It's not a big deal to clean up the code a bit. ps, it's not possible to have a single html file with images, you'll have at least an html document + a folder of images.

@Ryan - you got a link to get that Adobe creative Suite for $20 a month? Best deal I can find is $30 and that is using an educator discount. I want to play with EDGE REFLOW, but it's not in the demo/freebie or $19 a month account!

Thanks for the ideas, everyone, really got me thinking of alternatives! 2 more quick "clarification" type questions: 1) From my understanding, if I do use HTML files, they will not be stored/cached for offline use and will always need an online connection to access, right? 2) If I do take the HTML route (html document + a folder of images), I would have to include both in the Xcode project for the HTML document to work properly? Thanks again!!! P.S. @Shacksy : the pdf/word documents do not contain a "particular" image, instead, it's a diagram created using different shapes and figures, although I guess if I took the time I could make it into a single image.

ATRAIN: I was looking at the single app cloud price of $19. Creative cloud for education with all the apps is $29. Looks like Edge reflow should be in the suite soon.

I'm curious about your experience converting PDFs to html. I've experimented with some of the proposed solutions and all my images are beyond repair. Have you fared any better?
