BT Core - main.m file error

Hi All - Funny. All was going well & then.. hmm. not to sure what happened. I have an app (2.0 i0s), nothing fancy - a few html docs & rev mob installed. I was adjusting an external html file, went to compile & then this error popped up. At this stage, it's unable to compile any further. (Next to the NSAutorrelease line, there is a green error arrow, "Thread 1: breakpoint 1.1") int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { //return appname_appDelegate as UIApplicationMain NSAutoreleasePool * pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; int retVal= UIApplicationMain(argc,argv,@"UIApplication",@"appname_appDelegate"); [pool release]; return retVal; } Stackoverflow offers the following, but I'm not sure where to proceed: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5138142/whats-the-magic-of-nsautoreleasepool-in-objective-c-cocoa-framework Any ideas?

This message is simply Xcode way of telling you the app crashed, the crash doesn't have anything to do with the main.m file. This file is simply the "starting point" for your app. So, if you're app is crashing as soon as it launches, something else is wrong. It's likely that this "something else" is related to the UIViewController (the plugin) that's used for the app's home screen? Just a hunch. What does the output console show? It should show you what's happening in each file as the app launches. This information can be very useful when trying to figure out "where" the app is crashing.

Thank you, David. I'm certain that you are correct, as it is something else. (I was just cutting & pasting where the green error occurred). Here's a link to a screenshot of the output console (I believe): https://www.dropbox.com/s/lry1gbzavey3t9n/2.tiff And this is what's happening in the left-hand side bar area: https://www.dropbox.com/s/r261i3va2bhm4ip/3.tiff Side note- with all that you do, I deeply appreciate your attention to this. As a busy fella, feel free to tackle the big-picture stuff. I can always re-download & build it again. Thanks for your assistance though!

Ha, no worries. a) Open the Output Console in Xcode (the lower window in most arrangements) and "clear" it's contents. Use the little icons to the right of the clear button (hover over them for tips) and click the right-most one. "Show only the Console" Your screenshots are showing the "Variables View" but we need the Console info. b) Click the "run" button to launch the app in a simulator or a connected device. c) All sorts of information that WE CREATED will output to the Console. Not memory allocations or other details created by Xcode' debugger in the Variables View. The Output Console shows details that we include in every file to make it easier to debug. You should see line-by-line in the Output Console useful tips like "BT_application initializing", "BT_viewController: viewDidLoad" etc, etc. Tons and tons of output. When the app crashes, you'll see all this information so you can see "where" and "when" it died. Screenshot that :-)

yup - I just got some of that David Magic Code thrown across my monitor & it landed in the xcode compiler. The app now runs Perfectly fine - no errors whatsoever. Perhaps it just needed to be cleared & rebuilt. I love that I can't recreate my error for you. Once again, I am a mere mortal in the app making game and you, my friend, are so awesome. Thank you kindly-
