Splash Screen - where do I add the image in the buzztouch project?

Hi there, I have added a few screens and tested an app and everything is working great except for the splash screen. On the splash plugin I have entered the name of the image file into the Screen Background image section. I then copied the actual image file in the BT_Docs folder. When I test the app on my iPhone it is not working. Does anyone know where I am going wrong? Thank you for your help.

Hi @JonathonIML, Did you go into global settings and check Splash Screen? You drag the other folders over into Xcode? Just asking to try to help. LA

Thank you for getting back to me. Sorry this all still fairly new. Where are the global settings? Do you mean in Buzztouch panel or Xcode? I did drag the 5 folders into Xcode as instructed in the PDF instructions in the source code. Thank you for your help.

No problem. In the control panel of your App here @buzztouch, there is a "tab" at the top that says global. Go in there and check splash screen. LA

Do you mean the main application control panel where there is the picture of the iPad, iphone and android phone on the right? I can only see Global Themes on the left. Can not find any Global Settings. Sorry if this is very basic but I can not find them.

OK great, so I am in the Global Themes and there is only one entry called default. When I go into this there is a splash screen setting that says splash screen nickname. What do I need to check for in here? Just want to mention there is a delay when I run my app as though there should be a splash screen but it just shows a blank screen and no image on my iPhone. Thanks for your help.

Yes if you are using a splash screen, click select and select your splash screen within the App you are working with at that moment. LA

No your fine. I should of explained this in one response instead of dragging this out into multiple responses. So the image probably not showing up then on your splash screen. Not positive with IPhone, but with Android, make sure your image is a png image and put it in the drawable folders. Did you find it? Did it help? LA

Thanks, I am a little lost. Where do I click select? In the Global Theme? I can not see a select option. It just has settings for the nickname. I also not sure what folder the drawable folders is - do you mean the BT_Images folder? In the splash screen plugin accessed through Screens /Actions I have added the file name to my image. It is in png format. I just need to know where to copy the image to in the xcode project. So far I have added the image to BT_Docs but this does not work. This has worked with other plugins like the PDF plugin but is not working for the splash screen. I guess I could upload the image into buzztouch but would prefer to just copy the image across myself after downloading the source code. Thanks for your help

Images go into the BT_Art folder for iOS, and into res > drawable for Android. Give that a shot and let us know if it works. Make sure you add the image to both your source folder...where all the other files are...along with adding it to your Xcode project. Here's a doc that shows how to do that: https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Adding_Files_To_A_Project_v1.0.pdf Mark

Thanks, probably should of mentioned that I was using iOS. Tried the BT_Art folder but still no luck. I made sure I copied into both project in Finder and the Xcode BT_Art folder. Really not sure what I am doing wrong. I have been going into the Splash Screen Plugin and then into Screen Background Image. There is a section for Small Device and Large Device. I have been entering the image name here in the Image File Name like this: myimage.png Is that correct?

Yep, that should work. Can you send me your BT_config.txt file so I can see how things are configured? Send to MrkFleming at gmail dot com and I'll take a look! Mark

Manage to figure this out in the end. You where right LA about the theme screen. I really did not understand what you meant sorry for any confusion. It is not obvious in Buzztouch that when you add the splash screen plugin that you also need to enter it into the global theme nickname field by clicking the select button (hard to see the select option when you don't know what your looking for). Anyway found a tutorial on Youtube that helped. Think it might even be yours mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tZcv8GDUDQ So now I have my Splash screen running. I get a blank black screen for about 1-2 seconds before the splash image loads. Does anyone know why this may be happening? I have tried adjusting Animation Settings, Adjust Transition Seconds to -1 Anyone have any other suggestions as to why this is happening? Thank you for your help.

Hi @Jonathann, Glad I could help a little and sorry about the confusion. I have never created a splash screen for IPhone but only for Android. A few suggestions, make sure you drag your image for your splash screen over and if it's like Android, it would be all lower case and no special characters. LA
