Android project is not importing into eclipse

This is what I did: 1. Go to File…Import. 2. From the resulting dialogue box, expand General if necessary, and then select Existing Projects into Workspace. Hit Next. 3. Make sure Select root directory is selected, then hit Browse and select the unzipped folder that you got from buzztouch. Just select the root folder…none of the ones beneath it, and none of the files individually. 4. Your project should show up in the Projects: box, and should be check marked. Hit Finish. My project doesn't show up in the project box, it says "No projects are found to import" Any advice would be appreciated Thanks

Hi, this seems to be a problem with eclipse being fully up to date. I have the same problem. The only thing I can do is add the bt project to a new project: File > New > Project > Android > Android Project From Existing Code. Then, once it's loaded you'll need to right click the project > refactor > rename and change the name to what you want. Hope that helps.

I've found what @raveyd says to be true as well. The "Import Existing Project into Workspace" doesn't seem to do the trick anymore...only "Import Existing Android Project into Workspace." I'm going to update my document over the holidays to reflect this. Mark

Yep. Now you have to use Import Existing Android Project to get it into Eclipse. Not a big deal, just a different road. Then you can right-click on the project, hit Refactor > Rename, and change the project name to whatever you want. It won't affect the code at all. Mark

the only thing that was working for me was "import android code from workplace", i tried to make it from the "new" option as well and chose "Import Existing Android Project" but it gives me the same result, the greyish line that i cannot select...

So, you've downloaded new code from buzztouch, have opened Eclipse, selected Import > Existing Android Project, selected the root folder of your download package (unzipped), and it's not letting you do anything? Can you provide a screen shot? Mark

found the problem! i had to rename my first project first, thats why it wouldn't let me chose - because this was the same "default" name. Thanks Mark! Dave

OK, cool. Not sure if you're trying to select the 'res' folder when you import your project, but if you are, that's not quite correct. And it looks like you've got your downloaded zip file in the same folder that everything gets unzipped to...which seems odd. Typically, when I unzip the file, I unzip all the files to a folder with the same name as the zip file. Here's a video I did that shows the process. Give it a quick view and see if it matches up with what you're trying to do: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV3Ofi2602I Mark

Ah! Yep, that makes sense. You can rename any project in Eclipse by doing Refactor > Rename, and that'll take care of it! Mark
