New to App development

Hello Buzztouch community. My name is Juan Pablo Bolaños. I am a Graphic Designer from El Salvador (for those who don't know, it is a small country in Central America; close to Costa Rica and Panama) who feels a strong attraction to app development. My girlfriend and my sisters are both professionals in the tourism fields, and we have always had this idea to make an amazing tourist guide for our country. All the tourist guides here are a little lame and there are no tourism apps for our country. The idea started as a printed tourist guide, but we are now seriously considering turning it into an app. We have the drive, the means and the knowledge to pull this off in terms of tourism and design. The problem is making the app itself. I joined this community to try and develop the app here. I am currently undergoing classes that will help me towards this end and I am trying to prepare as much as I can. My country is beautiful and filled with wonders, both for foreign tourists (which come a lot, especially to surf) and locals who wish to learn more about their country. We want a guide that can make the decisions of "where to go" or "what to do once I'm here" much easier and fun to make. A guide that gives credit to the beauty of El Salvador. We want it to look nice, but most importantly, want it to be functional. If you guys have any help or guidance, I would greatly appreciate it. Have a nice one!

Hola Juan Pablo! Welcome to buzztouch! The ideas you have sound perfect for the buzztouch framework. There are a TON of resources around here...just explore and you'll see what I mean. Here's a great document that outlines what you need to get started: https://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Things_You_Need_Before_You_Start_Developing_Apps_v1.1.pdf The community here is amazing...ask any questions you have, and you'll get tons of help! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with on buzztouch! Welcome again! Mark

There are a number of successful tourist guide apps built with buzztouch, you could probably find them on the bt facebook page? Either way, it's a great framework for good looking information type apps. Good luck!

Thanks to all for the kind words. @raveyd, thanks for the tip. I was actually about to ask if there was any place where I could find/browse apps made with buzztouch. I will certainly take a look at the Facebook page. Thanks! JP

Hi ianjamespiano! I am certainly working on it but I am trying to resolve some issues (mostly design) and I am still figuring out how powerful and versatile the "engine" offered by buzztouch is. I will keep you guys updated once I get some serious results!
