Word Document plugin and .docx files

Does the Word plugin support .docx files, or only .doc? When I try to load a .docx file, it just shows the spinning loader image. However, when I click the button to load it in Safari, Safari displays the document just fine.

Only .doc. I've tried, as have others, and nobody has had success with .docx files. Mark

Thanks Mark - that's what I was afraid of. Hopefully clients will understand.

I'd say that .doc is still the prevalent format these days...I get way more of those than .docx at work. And the latest versions of Word save in both, so they have a choice.

That's weird. My apps for iOS read .docx files perfectly fine, no problem and loads without any troubles, online or offline! Although I do agree, .doc is the more "compatible" version. Just thought I'd share that tidbit - .docx does indeed seem to work, at least it did/does for me.

Hi, Been there in the past: docx didn't load but I never actually use this type of screen. If you only want to work with docx files you could easily change line 80 of bt_screen_wordDoc.m(if I remember correctly) [self setSaveAsFileName:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@_screenData.doc", [screenData itemId]]]; to [self setSaveAsFileName:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@_screenData.docx", [screenData itemId]]]; Hope this helps. Best Regards, Danny
