App published to Google play

Released s free version of my app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scottishbagpipesfreeversion Its pretty basic but paid version had a few sales so thought i would release a free version with ads as they tend to get loads more downloads and may increase sales of full app also. Appreciate any feedback.thanks

Sometimes a free version is a must to "push" out to customers information about a new paid app soon to be released. LA

Congrats. Have you ever seen the Red Hot Chili Pipers? I love the Dropkick Murphy's but these guys really take bag pipes/rock music to the next level.

Yes sure. They are good. I know Stuart Cassells very well and he is the man in charge at the chili piper's. We grew up competing against each other in solo competitions when we were young. He won things like young musician of the year and stuff too so they have a good man leading them. Bagpiping is seriously big across the world and players are in demand. My piper hire app is almost 1000 downloads and has been installed in just about every country you can think of. It could earn me money by charging players a subscription to be on the app but I don't know how to add all that Google billing stuff to java code. Will have to pay someone to do that for me at some point.

Awesome. Plan to see them if they ever hit the city. I understand they have a travel crew and then the 'real' pipers. You should join their crew, travel the world. Offer to make them an app? Signing up for a subscription on a mobile device..... One reason that's a bad idea - SSL security. Mobile browsers are not going to show users all that SSL security they like to see. I NEVER submit a form with personal data like a CC unless I see a SSL Cert like Thawte or COMODO. Why not offer users the abilty to subscribe and be listed in the app and keep it simple by having them send an email thru the app to you to apply. Then you can sift thru the apps and send them a response that directs them to a secure website they can use on a non-mobile device to register..... I really hate filling out forms/making purchases on iphones. Can;t say I've done it more than once. I prefer a real browser.
