Notepad plugin not allowing keypad to open on screen

I'm debugging my android app. It did fine in the simulators. When placed on my android razor phone, the notepad plugin will not allow my keypad to open on my screen; therefore, I can't write notes. Any ideas what I did wrong? Thanks, Harley :)

Hi Harley, I just replied to your PM. You're not doing anything wrong...this is a known issue in the plugin. For some reason, the keyboard doesn't come live the first time you try and add a note. Here's what works for me: * Go to the Notepad Screen * Hit the Edit button * Try and type something in. It won't show a keyboard * Hit the Save button * Hit the Edit button * Try and type something in. The keyboard should come up. I assure you we're looking into this issue, and will let you know as soon as we have a fix. Thanks! Mark

you are a miracle worker!! It worked just as you said. Did this happen to many devices or just the razor? I will pass the hint to my friends helping me test the app. Thank you Mark! h

This just happens on Android, and not iOS. Doesn't seem to matter what device...it's an Android OS issue. Glad it worked for you! Mark

I'm so excited to get my first app out. I'm trying to have it ready by Sunday so I can give it away to everyone Sunday morning. This gets me much closer! Thank you, h

I would be grateful if your time allowed you to look it over. If not, I fully understand.

@GoNorthWest - I know nothing about the plugin, you've probably already researched, but I <i>think</i> there's a manifest entry to control keyboard pop up. I was looking for something similar ages ago and can't remember if it was a manifest entry or just a line of code. It would almost certainly be stackoverflow where I was looking. I'll try and refresh my memory...

Obviously I don't know your code, but maybe something in this thread will help? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4804493/how-to-automatically-pop-up-keyboard The first answer looks promising..

Awesome...thanks! The weird thing is that it eventually pops up just fine, but you have to go through those hoops to get that to happen. That's what's frustrating me.

So I guess you'd need some code in the onCreate method to force the keyboard to open as soon as the screen is accessed? I think that first answer is still promising..

Just tried for the first time and getting same problem. Cool feature @GoNorthwest but sadly will have to wait for a fix. Its not essential for my app but just wanted to try it out. I know you will get to the bottom of it sometime. Typical android.
