pdf document plugin and open in native app function

On the "PDF Document" plugin, there's an option to open the document in a native app. However, including that option only lets the user open the pdf in Safari. From there, the document can be opened in any app that supports pdf on the device. Is there a way to skip the Safari step, and let the user choose which app to open the document in straight from the plugin screen? I found a thread talking about this from a year ago: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?tid=77E517D9599C42D988B8CAE&status=&searchInput=search...&sortColumn=FT.dateStampUTC&sortUpDown=DESC&currentPage=64&doViews=1 But it doesn't look like any resolution was ever made. Does anyone know of any way to accomplish this? Thanks, Chris http://www.churchphoneapps.com

You would need to enter the custom URL string for the app you wanted to use. Unfortunately iOS doesn't ship with a PDF "viewer" so you can not launch that. You would have to know what third party app the customer has and then add that URL. (If they have made it public) http://wiki.akosma.com/IPhone_URL_Schemes -this link gives a list of some open links. (from the launch native app page) The nice thing about Safari, is that all the big name PDF apps can be launched from there. I am not aware of any PDF apps that have an open SDK, but I have not looked very hard either.
