Plugin Suggestion

Hey, I would like to suggest a plugin, where one could choose a different image for landscape and portrait. Cheers. Miguel

That's a great idea, especially for iPad. I will add it to my list of ideas for the Menu with Image plugin. I don't think it would be very difficult. Is there a certain screen you need it for in particular?

I'd say any screen, although I most miss it in any menu screen. Thanks Miguel

The power of the xib could solve your problem. Add one for each screen, make a portrait and a landscape one, add an imageview to each. change each individual background in interface builder and voila. You could link this to the control panel but makes it a little more difficult. I'm not by a mac so unable to test. I'll have a play tonight see how i get on

@kittsy, do you know how to make a separate xib for the new iPhone size? For the iPad, you just add ~ipad.xib to the file name.

you can't apple expects you to use the autolayout feature which isn't great as it crashes. you can make the iphone one the same and make a ui image stretch with the screen. there are various code changes in stackoverflow but very complicated. Without using xibs i solved a background pic issue by making all of my images for the iphone 5. Then suing the control panel made them all fit top centre. so everything will be in line but if it's iphone 4 it chops bottom off unnoticably. Loads are complaining about this, but again it's apple pushing for ios 6 and autolayout features in xcode 4.5. Sorry it's not more helpful

I think it is more important on a tablet anyway. I always use my iPad in landscape.
