How to build a new version of an App?

In my app, published on the App Store, many objects are on a site, so I can change them whenever I want. I want to upgrade my app so I have to experiment and make tests on my self hosted control panel. My fear is that making changes and testing, I could "influence" the data in my distribuited app. I have thought to create a new app, work on it and when it is completed, post it on the App Store as version 2.0. Or is there any better solution?

Hi @Otatech, I think it kinda depends on how extensive the changes are you're going to make. If it's just a few, you could create a test app, test out the changes, and then implement them on the active app when they're ready. If it's a larger set of changes, then doing a 2.0 version would work as well. You just need to make sure to use the same keystore to sign the app as with he 1.x version, and make sure all the info in the AndroidManifest.xml file matches. Then it should just be an upgrade for your users. Mark
