adding image files

Hi all, So I'm working on an app that has tons of background images, menu header images, and pdf files. I added the pdf files to the BT_Docs folder and they show up beautifully, but in the tutorials they say to add the image files to the BT_Images folder and there is no BT_Images folder in the package. Am I supposed to create the BT_Images folder? I put menu header images in the res>drawable folder and they work, but if I put a background image or the splashscreen image in that folder the app crashes randomly. Any help?? Cheers, Khalid

iOS or Android. I only know about Xcode. You just drag your images into the images folder but first you have to drag the images folder into Xcode from the Buzztouch zip file

Hi Khalid, Images for iOS should go into the BT_Art folder now. That replaces the BT_Images folder. You have them in the correct place for Android. If you get random crashes, please post LogCat info so we can work to debug it. Thanks! Mark

The older version i.e. BT 1.5 had a folder for images named BT_Images which was in the assets folder. But in the newer version of BT 2.0 you have to place all the images in the res--->drawable folder.

Yes, I was referring to Android sorry I should have been more clear. Thanks for the help! Must be some other reason that the app crashes when I put a background image. I'll post the logCat if I have more problem. On a side note, I just recently started playing around with Xcode and it runs SOOOO much smoother than Eclipse! Loving it! However, in my app I accidentally put all my pdf's and images in the BT_Docs folder (which I dragged in) and all the images seem to be where they're supposed to and work no problem. Should I keep it as is or should I move them to the BT_Art folder any way? Thanks! Khalid

If it works, I wouldn't mess with it! I know that images associated with HTML docs go in the BT_Docs folder with the HTML doc, so I'm guessing it works for images in general. I'd stick with what works.

Thanks!!! Oh, @GoNorthWest, by the way, I little while back I posted a problem of not being able to refresh the data in eclipse to see changes I've made in the control panel, someone had replied and said that you were helping them figure out the issue... any luck?? I'm still having that problem and it seems that the only way I can see changes is by redownloading the source code and importing it all over again

Nothing concrete yet. I know there were recently some backend server problems that @David has fixed. Any chance that solved the problem?

Additionally, you should only have to download the source once. All changes to your app are reflected in the configuration file, so if you sync that, it should update the app.

oops not sure why that message sent again, sorry about that. Yeah I know I'm only supposed to download the source code once, but I just wanted to see if the problem had to do with the actual source itself. I even tried to run it in different AVD's but no prompts for refreshing even still. Guess I'm just gonna have to wait and see if David finds a fix! Thanks again you're the best man!

If you refresh a forum page that you just posted to, it'll post stuff again. Weird, but that's the way it works. Keep an eye on LogCat and see what it says when you think it should be doing a refresh. That would provide valuable data. Mark
