Do you need to test it on iphone 5?

I sent the iphone application to itune coonect, and they said I needed to provide screen shot, and my screen shot needed to be on iphone 5 and ipad 5. Actually I got the screen shot from iphone 4s. If I upgrade to iphone 5 NOW, it will be too expensive for me since we got a one year phone family plan which is not expired yet. Any suggestions? Why did apple want the screen shot from iphone 5 now? Thanks for suggestions.

You can use the screenshot from the emulator, it should have the right pixel dimensions and screen resolution. Just go to File -> save screenshot and it should save it to the desktop.

In the iOS simulator you can change the device to the 4" iPhone. Then do the screenshot. Assuming you're running the latest SDK.

Yep you can, but I thought they wanted an iphone 5 screenshot and didn't have the hardware ... so you can do the iphone 5 in the emulator also. Hardware menu -> Device -> iphone->"Retina 4-inch" Cheers

They dont say anything, you dont need the actual device to get your app approved, but you do need at least 1 screenshot for the iphone 5 yes. The dimensions are 640 x 1136 , just upload an image with these and everything is fine.

I got the reply from Apple support, here is the response: "Please be advised that the new iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) screenshot dimensions are: 640 x 1136 (portrait) 640 x 1096 (portrait) 1136 x 640 (landscape) 1136 x 600 (landscape)" From this response, it looks to me I need to have 4 screen shots. I am confused. Here is what I did(according to itcguy and fingers Crossed): " Hardware -> Device -> iphone -> retina 4-inch After run, go to File -> Save Screenshot" Any suggestions? Thanks

You don't have to supply all 4 sizes. Just at least one using one of those dimensions. Most people usually supply at least two screenshots though. Eg Front screen at 640 by 1136 and then a content screen at 640 by 1136. cheers
