Localizable.strings file translations--Need Volunteers

I am looking for volunteers to help with updating and translating the Localizable.strings file we use for compiling our projects. This project will help buzztouch reach the world. Phase 1: Start with the English version, anticipating what text we could use in the Localizable. strings files. Once we start translating, it will be harder to keep all versions in sync, so I plan to start work on the English version first. For this, I need plugin developers to help me in English. I think we can accomplish this task in one Google Hangout. Phase 2: Translate the Localizable.string files. If you speak a language other than English and would like to help, let me know. We need volunteers to translate, and also to proof the translations. Let me know if you have any feedback or advice on this project, and in particular I would like to know if you are willing to volunteer to help. Thank you! P.S. I am not sure off hand how localization works in Android, but Android is in scope for this.

It would be great to have your feedback on the English because of your plugin work and also to make sure we use phrases that make sense outside of the US. Thank you!

I have French, Spanish, Swedish - all translated and outsourced by native speakers. Send me a pm and i'll send them over to you by email or wherever. I could post them here. I also have from the forum Android translations in Italian, German and the above languages as well! or google hangout. I thought there was one this week, is there?

Hi Susan! Any plans for localising in Hindi?? Well the android device activation in India has grown to 400% in 1 year with more than 100 thousands new activations daily these days. If you plan to localise in Hindi, Marathi and Hinglish, well i am in.

Thank you, everyone! Great response to this. I will write up a project plan today and post a link on the forum. We really have the major western European languages wrapped up to a large degree, plus Hindi, Marathi and Hinglish from Sandeep. Except Scottish--@MacApple--I am afraid there isn't a localization code for it. :( It would be nice to get every language with an iOS/Android localization code into buzztouch, and eventually we will. So if there are more volunteers, let me know! Plus, we have a huge headstart on translations because of the contribution from @mysps!

I put together a temporary website so we could work on this. I would like to get this to a fairly complete state before we turn it over to David, so we can keep his time free for all of the other things we need him to work on. Here is a link: http://whitebuffalomobile.com/Localization/localization.html For those of you who volunteered to help with translations, I listed your screen name as a contact. Is that ok? In the long run I thought it might be encouraging to someone new to buzztouch who spoke the language. I am not sure the iOS instructions are correct. If any of you know off hand, please respond and let us know. If not, I will research more thoroughly. The next step is to set up some time to work on the English version. Thank you, everyone!

Here are the new messages I am going to add to the localization files. I will put these at the bottom of the list so they are easy for the translators to find. It doesn't mean we can't add more to the list later, but I will use the current list plus these adds for now. //new messages December 2012 "showAchievements" = "Show Achievements";//Proposed by @Kittsy "submitScore" = "Submit Score";//Proposed by @Kittsy "quizShareText" = "Share Results";//Proposed by @Kittsy "postScoreToFacebook" = "Post Score to Facebook";//Proposed by @Kittsy "tweetScore" = "Tweet Score";//Proposed by @Kittsy "launch_emailURL" = "Would you like to email a link to this website?";//proposed by Susan Metoxen "postToFacebook" = "Post to Facebook";//Proposed by @Kittsy "tweet" = "Tweet";//Proposed by @Kittsy Until the translations are done, I will keep these at the bottom of the list. I will reorganize them into a more logical place on the list at some point. In some cases I have more than one volunteer for translating, and I will be in touch with you via email or personal messages. I want to make sure we don't have two people working on the same list. What makes more sense is to have one person translate, and the other person proof and check for possible ways to say it better across regions. We already have German, Spanish and Italian for iOS and Android, so we just need the new phrases translated. In addition, we have French and Swedish for iOS only. More to come. Thank you all for your interest and willingness to help!

Hi, everyone! We are making a lot of progress. Here is the link to our project web page. http://whitebuffalomobile.com/Localization/localization.html I thought what I would do is start to announce each language separately in a forum announcement--either as we finish up that language or if we need volunteers. By separating out forum posts by language we will also have a place for discussing any errors or language improvements in that language. I will start with Spanish, and see how it goes. Thank you all so much for your help with this! It is very appreciated.
