Hi I am New to the forum from Sydney Australia, I have followed all possible guides online as well as on the buzztouch database and still can not find a resolution Basically I have all the required Google API 8 2.2 SDK's installed correctly (not Android Froyo 2.2) I have no errors in my console, however when i create an AVD it all loads fine and i can use the AVD. I can even see my application icon!! However when i click on my application it says "This application is not installed on this phone" I do not understand how it can appear there but still say that after i launch the AVD with my project i get a couple of erros in the console the first one is "BT_activity_root] No Launcher activity found!" "BT_activity_root] The launch will only sync the application package on the device!" Hi Julian, Welcome to buzztouch! Sorry that you're having these issues right off the bat. You're right...it should be easier than this, and usually is! A quick Google search, and a general feeling, makes me think there is an issue with your manifest file. If you'd like, you could send it to me and I could take a look. Just pop your AndroidManifest.xml file in the mail to MrkFleming at gmail dot com and I can see what's up. Aside from that...have you made any changes to the code you've downloaded from buzztouch? Or are you just using what you got? Mark

This error really seems interesting. Normally this sort of error occurs when the developers fail / forget to declare the default activity in the manifest.xml file. In your case this should not occur coz you have downloaded the source code from bt which provides all the source code generated automated. I doubt that you have deleted the launcher activity by mistake. In bt apps the launcher activity is the - BT_activity_root.java file. The declaration relating to this is made in the line number 30 to 34 of the manifest file. which goes as follows:- <!-- activity root is the default, beginning activity --> <activity android:name="BT_activity_root" android:label="@string/app_name" android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation" android:excludeFromRecents="false" android:noHistory="true"> Check that the above code is there in your manifest file. You can copy paste the above code in case you do not find the above code in your manifest file. This will fix the eror you are getting.

I haven't got any access to my project now as I'm not at home or work However I did look into the manifest file as people in a google search mentioned But I didn't find anything wrong I also deleted the whole project and then downloaded the source code again so I actually have not touched what the buzz touch source code has set As soon as I get a chance I will definitely send through my manifest file as soon as I get a chance I am a previous basic web designer and have an excellent understanding of computers but I'm new to the whole programming world Thank you for your help Even though I have stated I have checked all other avenues if there is something I might be missing please feel free to enlighten me

Not at all. The animation effects wont create any errors coz android too support animations. Say if its possible to you we can have a teamviewer session say exactly 2 hours from now. I will be offline for couple of hours and will come online for you on team viewer. Just PM me your teamviewer id and password. Also send me your email so that i can contact you when i come online.

just an update, i have also download the .apk to my android device and it has a similar error, it says "Something is not right" and it does not launch even though i can see the app on the screen i also now have access to the project and will for the next 7 hours or so, so if anyone wants me to try anything just let me know

i had a look in my manifest and it appeared as though i had identical to what sandeep has posted, however i copy and pasted it anyway... now i no longer got the "No Launcher Activity found error in my console" and "the application is not installed..." when i click on the app in the emulator this time i got "there is a problem with the apps configuration data, see the logcat data in eclipse"

Just ran Julian's package through Eclipse, and LogCat complained about invalid JSON. Ran it through jsonlint.org, and it complained about an Email screen. I be if that's deleted from the control panel, and the config file synced, it'll take care of the problem. Then we just need to figure out what's up with the Email screen! Mark

Error generating final archive: java.io.IOException: Invalid keystore format OH OHH!! DONT DO THIS TO ME Yesterday i exported it to my android device to eliminate the emulator as the error today when i went to export it again i got the above error!! Please help!!! the keystore file is still there however it says its invalid so im thinking its corrupt

No need to fear! Just delete the copy on your device by going into Settings...Applications. Then do the same thing you did yesterday. It'll sign it again, and all will be well. Mark

Rock on! Just make sure when you create and use a release keystore for the release version of the app, that you safeguard the keystore super closely! If you loose it, you'll have to create a new one, and you won't be able to update a previous version of the app because updates have to be signed with the same keystore. So, back it up! Mark
