Android, the the new adt. Can't use google Apis

On the new android adt eclipse is easier because you don't have to install an adt plugin into eclipse. I is a modified version of eclipse called adt. It can be found at http://developer.android.com/ My point being, you cannot create a project with existing code. You have to import it. The issue with that is you can't add the google Apis. This means you will have errors in the project that use the google Apis. Is there a way in the new ADT to add the google Apis?

You can still download the Google APIs using the SDK Manager, which is available the same way as with the old Eclipse configurations. Then, to specify the APIs for the project, you can right-click on the project you have imported the way @raveyd specifies, then select Properties > Android, and select the Google API. Nothing has really changed...though I have not been able to Import Project From Existing Code like I used to, though Import Android Project from Existing Code does work. Mark

Yeah, I've noticed that you can't import the project like you used to be able to, it doesn't find a project file in the download any more. Doing it from File > New > etc, gives the project the package name rather than the App name and doesn't allow to choose a working set which is a bit of a pain..

Yep. Not sure what changed, but it must be something on the Android ADT side, because nothing has changed in buzztouch!

Yeah! I was lacking about how to get the downloaded Apis into the project (no way to import with defined API.)

It seems hit and miss whether the ADT picks up the API requirement from the manifest file. But it's easy enough to fix, so it's really not an issue.

Ok thanks. I also tried the nexus S avd, and it will open and then close instantly, like its missing a source file or something. I hope this is just that avd, not all of them ill have to try some later.

stackoverflow.com is often a great place to find out why things like that happen!
