Aurasma Plugin available in store

Hi guys my first plugin is available in the market. If you are buying make sure you have a good look around Aurasmas website www.aurasma.com to see how it works. I'm willing to help anyone, but please try and follow the instructions first. Happy Aurasming

Nice one buddy. Spent some time on their site and app this week, need to find time to spend more time! How many 'times' was that? Congratulations mate, will hopefully be adding this to an app in the coming months.

Hey, its a must have. It will be my next purchase. ALready have ton of ideas for it. Just tell me something, so this plugin in basically helps me skip all the steps found on aurasma to set it up in my app? Some Aurasma question, if you happen to know the answer: I'm registered at aurasma, do I need to register for every app I want to use it for? Or once registered you can use it in as many apps as you want? I still havent figured if you have to pay aurasma per click or something or if its just free? Cheers. Miguel

The plugin stops you ahving to follow the very complicated steps it tells you to follow. You will still need to add the 300 frameworks though lol otherwise the plugin download would have been touching 200MB. The plugin does this. You add it as a screen linked through whatever button you press. Press the button the aurasma controller launches too it's camera mode. I have added a torch to the controller something that no other aurasma application offers I've checked dozens. There menu system colors can now be changed in the buzztouch control panel. Font colors header images makes it easier to match your app. Technically , you register each app to provide it with it's only personal super auras, (super aura is an aura that is unique to your app without the suer registering.) so the client can download your app, launch the plugin point it at your trigger image and it will just work. So each different app will have different trigger images, but if you need two apps to have the same trigger images you just connect each app to the relevant channel to each. Aurasma is free you pay them nothing, god knows how they make money, although I'm sure they charge a premium for making proffesional stunning looking auras. Hope that helps. Quick question. Does the Aurasma splash screen & animation have to show up in the plugin ?

Yes this is the only proviso of using the code. if you don't want it to have the splash, you have to email aurasma and pay to get a customised kernel created. If you do that you still copy the kernel into xcode and the the plugin will still work.

Awesome. Glad I have my account there in order already. Can't wait to see the David method of popping that viewcontroller and see if I've been doing it the same way with other stuff. Got close to making this work, but it really wasn't until I watched some of their videos that I understood how this all really works. I saw that in the video and was going to have Aurusma make me a custom kernel sans splash or rebranded. That's very cool if we can use the the same kernel. Thanks for bringing this AR stuff to my attention and sharing the code! Anxious to try making some auras and see how I can use this. How does Aurusma make money? To be honest, every app I've seen that uses the kernel, has there splash screen when they launch, so I doub't it will cause too much of a problem plus their animation is pretty swish. If you do order a rebranded it still shows their splash but it's just an app you launch it the aurasma controller launches, it doesn't do anything else.

This looks really exciting. I'm looking forward to seeing a buzztouched example or two. I take it all this will be possible without wifi or mobile signal? The venue I would like to use it at has little connectivity...

NO Aurasma requires network connectivity there is no workaround at present, although Aurasma may introduce this in the future. The whole aurasma database is online, to be fair this works best as some of the aura videos can be up to 100MB, and if you have several auras then you can imagine this how quickly the file sizes will grow.

One more question, sorry :( Just so I understand, you add the aurasma plugin to an app, and it reads the trigger images you create from aurasma website, so I guess this means that once I got the app in the app store, I can keep adding trigger images via aurasma.com right? Nothing is added to the binary itself, right? Miguel

yes that is correct. you make auras that are started by trigger images, these are all contained in you aurasma channel, which in turn is linked to your app. So you can add as many auras to your channel as you like

Just digging in to this. Bought the plugin and downloaded for selfhosted. I didnt set the Aurasma part up yet but as I just downloaded the source code of my app, I get the following Aurasma Problem: AK.h file not found An import part of the Aurasma_integration.h file. Is this typo or what? Maybe this dissapears as soon as I followed all instructions but just wanted to let you know.

Yeah that error is normal, it will turn up until you drop the aurasma kernel in. That is what links everythnig together. You will download a big file called aurasmakit open it and there will be another called aurasmakit (a bit confusing) drag that whole folder into your project, then add the 20 frameworks. Any more questions just let me know.

Don't worry I know the manual is big but just follow it slowly and it will work. It's been tested on my missus and she'd never touched xcode, also sheri got a preview and managed to integrate it pretty easily. The toughest part is getting the ideas to make your own auras

Well, added ( to the code and works now. So instead of: if[AKBackground length] > 3){ it should be: if([AKBackground length] > 3){ You will find this in Line 145 of the file Aurasma_integration.m

Is it correct, that Aurasma does not support iPhone 5 yet? Getting build error with iphone 5, but not with 4s??

Right I'm back. I came across this last night, just treated my self to an iphone 5. Go to your project, then build settings, In the below the architectures banners you will see architectures : standard (armv7,armv7s) the same in valid architectures. The current aurasma doen't play nice with armv7s so we need to delete this leaving just armv7. To do this click on the standard part it should pop up with other. select that. Delete the arch standard one, and then press add and type armv7. it should now just say armv7 in the valid architectures click in the box and just delete armv7s, this should leave just armv7. This should work, I'm going to do a video tutorial. Have spoke to aurasma the end of december a new kernel will be released which will address all of these ios6 issues.

This is the problem with apple moving the goal posts all the time and the third partys not keeping up. Let me know if this works, it should.
