Android/Eclipse Step by Step or teacher?

I went through Buzztouch U and figured out creating my app, I also figured out the xcode side of things but this took quite a while and I had to submit several times to iTunes to get it right ;) I would love to figure out uploading the android side but the tutorials make it sound a lot harder than the iPhone side. Are there step by step instructions, a tutor or if I get stuck, someone to pay for answers? I have spent months on this and am running out of steam... Thanks, Greg

Hi Greg, Getting familiar with eclipse is much easier than you think. I have been trying to learn xcode and obj c for last 2 and a half months and i think xcode is much trickier than eclipse. It took me just few days to get familiar with eclipse. There are great tutorials for getting to know the eclipse and its environment created by community members. You should follow those guides which are very helpful for new developers. Following are the links where you will find all the information you need to start getting familiar with eclipse. In case you get stuck at some point you can post your questions on the forum. there are many helpful people here to assist you. You can also pm me in that case. http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Things_You_Need_Before_You_Start_Developing_Apps_v1.0.pdf http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Adding_Files_To_A_Project_v1.0.pdf http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Setting_Up_Your_Android_Development_Environment_For_MacOSX_v1.0.pdf http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Compiling_Your_Android_Application_v1.0.pdf http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Signing_Android_Apps_v1.0.pdf http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/buzztouch_For_Android-A_Users_Guide.pdf

Well at least for me its trickier at first coz i was not able to figure out which file was header and which file was implementation file. Also i was a bit confused about the .xib files. But with java i did not struggle understanding the difference between the java file and the layout file.

I just started reading the book, Android Application Development for Dummies, and it is quite good. It really starts at the beginning.

Thanks Sandeep, I went through the doc links you sent and I had gone through some of the Buzztouch Android tutorials but they start with people think it is a confusing and mysterious environment. I already know I have to jump though some extra hoops to get the maps to work that work natively on the iOS device.

@Susan- Nice to know that you have started learning java and finding it easy. You really are a hard worker. @LA- Susan recommended me a book named Beginning ios 5 development which can be found at the following link. I have got that book but have not yet started to taking the course yet coz am stuck in the middle of one ongoing android project. You can check the link and can find the book useful. link: http://www.amazon.com/Beginning-iOS-Development-Exploring-SDK/dp/1430236051 @techdesigner- I have to agree what you say about the maps. You have to work around a bit to make the maps work and the process is a bit confusing and lengthy creating the map api key and including it in the app. There is a simple and great tutorial on how to set up google maps in bt apps by Fred. Find the tutorial in the below link, its really easy to set up maps with the help of this tutorial. You can pm me if you need some assistance if you get stuck at some point. link: http://myskylla.wordpress.com/2012/04/18/buzztouch-google-maps/
