Kia Ora from Waikato, New Zealand

I'm very green in terms of programming, but I can find my way around the computer. I have loads of ideas so I'm very excited about making my first app. I know that I'll need a Mac book to make ios apps, but within my possession is an Acer tablet (A501). I have downloaded the SDK and ECLIPSE software, with no luck of running them on this tablet. What will be the best driver out there for them? Cheers

Welcome @niueprince, New Zealand is just across the ditch from us Aussies :) Buzztouch is great place to start your app development adventure! I'd think you could get something started using the Android simulator if your device is giving you trouble. Have you gone into the settings on the device and enabled the device for development? There is also good documentation in the 'how to's' section on this website. Kind regards Darrel

Welcome! That tablet isn't a device you can develop on. You need a windows or mac enviroment to install Eclipse and the Android Developer Toolkit and then compile the binary to an app. That'll be a great device to test your apps on, but not build on.

@Atrain - good pick up! I didn't read that too well. I assumed the tablet was for 'testing on' not to actually develop on :( Cheers
