Provisioning Nightmare

Hello, Two things, I see that in my keychain certificate window reads, "this certificate is revoked" plus I cannot find, for the life of me, from the project window the following menu actions in Xcode: The steps below are in the Development Provisioning Assistant Wizard. Step 1. "In the Project Window, select "Device iPhone OS" from the "Device / Debug drop down menu in the upper left hand corner. Where the heck is this???? From there, Step 2. Click "Build and Go" to install the application on my device. I can't seem to find the above steps/ items in my project window. If I do.....before someone answers this post...... do I have to create another certificate all over again then go to this so-called "Project Window" where allegedly, the illusive "Device/Debug drop down menu exist in some Apple fairy land? HELP? PS, I managed to assign my device with the whole UDID number and I thought I had a good certificate.

If your certificate is revoked you'll have to whip over https://developer.apple.com click on 'iOS Dev Center', once logged in, click on 'iOS Provisioning Portal' top right side. Here you can check out your certificates and make new ones or re-download etc. -Nick.

That button may be hidden, try checking your view menu, it should be called toolbar. Click to view it. Miguel

Thank you guys. I just noticed I placed an apostrophe in my device name and I can't find where to delete it out of Xcode. Weeeee. I get a "build fail" because I bet, the apostrophe is screwing up the file. Anyone know where the provisioning file goes when you drag it into Xcode? I need to delete that file and start over with at the IOS provisioning portal. I hope I don't have to create another device and I can just rename the one I started. RWPLLC

I'm stumped. I can't get my device to run from Xcode. Since I'm an "agent" I'm doing what Apple calls a generic test. This consists of simply plugging my iPhone into my Mac Pro which pops the Organizer-Device. My device appears and it is named. There is a little prompt that reads, "Xcode cannot find the software image to install this version". I googled that prompt and most developers say it doesn't matter. Next, I verify I have Certificate for Development in my keychain, which Apple says happens automatically with a generic test. By plugging in the phone, it should work. I have verified all the steps and still, "build failed" for this device. I'm afraid I might have to go into iTunes and check to see the status of my device or I have to insert some code somewhere to get it to work. I'm operating the latest version of Xcode and there is some chatter about how the newer version require us to "target" the device build manually. I'm like, "Great, my brain smelting". lol Help?

I even tried to select Target Build version 4.2 in the IOS deployment menu. (Project Window) I read where it often fixes the issue. Not in my case. Still, "build failed". lol

I got "Xcode cannot find the software image to install this version" when my iPhone was at a version too low to compile an image for. I had to upgrade the iOS version on my phone. Cheers! -- Smug

Well, I have the latest version IOS on my phone and the latest version of Xcode. I'm so stumped. Cannot get the darn app to load on my device and run. I don't know what is wrong.
