Hi in Dublin.. For sure you're not alone and the setup (on your machine) can be a huge pain. Generally speaking, iOS on a Mac (xcode) is a thousand times easier than Eclipse (on windows or PC). There are countless tutorials online on how to do this but @GoNorthwest in our community has made some awesome PDF's covering this exact topic. Have a look at his "Setting up your development environment" in the How To's - I think you'll be happy with his detailed info :-) Welcome aboard.

Ah...makes sense. Must Android on Windows. LOL. Just guessing. Most of the trouble / confusion is NOT related to Eclipse but instead getting the Android SDK to "play nicely" in the Eclipse environment. For most folks its.... 1) Eclipse download, running, no problem. Easy. 2) Android SDK Download. running, maybe, starts getting confusing. 3) Eclipse running, Android SDK "on the machine somewhere" not playing nice with Eclipse. Ugh. Ah, but wait....looks like Google's trying to streamline this this. See this (looks awesome): http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/bundle.html

Wow, great find David. That is a real bundle of joy. If that single download works as well as advertised, that will save a lot of folks tons of time and headaches setting up eclipse. Welcome Padjo - Let us know how this goes if you try the bundle. If you want to follow the @gonorthwestguide you can still download older versions of eclipse, like the 3.7.2 he uses. Look for OLDER VERSIONS link on the site. I have a hunch that bundle will need some of the older SDK's and stuff added, and the instructions inside that guide will assist you to adding these. I could be wrong, that bundle may have the right SDK but I doubt it.

Hi @Padjo, Welcome to buzztouch! Please don't hesitate to PM me if you have any questions about the documents, or you get stuck with anything. For the most part, the Android guide doc should get you going, but it can be tricky sometimes because Android simply refuses to play well. Like @David mentioned, though, Android appears to have streamlined the install process, and I'll be writing up a doc very soon on that. @ATRAIN53 : Looks like the SDK in the new process comes with Android Jelly Bean, but not the Google APIs. So, that's really the only thing extra that you have to download. Everything else is just there! It's actually quite amazing. Mark
