Custom HTML 'data for this screen has not been downloaded'

Hi, Apologies for my newbishness. Im trying to add text to my app via the Custom HTML screen. If I do so, a pop-up appears saying "data for this screen has not been downloaded. Please check your internet connection". My internet connection is fine. When I click 'save' after writing the text I am kind of expecting it to create a HTML doc and add it to the files section. Am I right in assuming this? Regardless, it doesn't. Also, in the JSON below it says to find the data URL at... <a href="https://www.buzztouch.com/files/applications072212/JA2328774D7ED3C974251AEE0/documents/customHTML_BE8005FFAC32F2BB91B1A5F.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.buzztouch.com/files/applications072212/JA2328774D7ED3C974251AEE0/documents/customHTML_BE8005FFAC32F2BB91B1A5F.html</a> ...hence why I thought the custom HTML plugin just created a HTML file and popped it in the files folder for the app to access via URL. Anyway, the link doesn't work. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? I have a nasty feeing it's going to be something obvious...! Thanks in advance, G

same here but i made some other custom html pages. other pages seems to work i think it is something in the buzztouch server. try a 1.5 project or use the hosting package in a turnkey stack.

w8 have you rebuild your app to your iphone /android after you made this screen ? else you will have to do that first.

Hello, Yes, I'm getting the same file not downloaded yet on my custom html plugin screen and it only has 5 words. Usually, the html is pretty instant so I would imagine it's a bug that will be fixed soon. LA

its happening to all new html / doc pages in 2.0 hope they will fix it fast. prob older pages you created first will work because they are cached.

There was a problem with the Custom HTML / Text plugin after the update. It's fixed. If you create new Custom HTML / Text screen you should not have this problem. For existing Custom HTML / Screens (that are not loading)...do this... 1) Visit the screen in in question in your control panel. 2) Press "save" in one of the advanced properties. 3) Refresh you app's data in the simulator or device. Should fix it. It was an issue of your JSON data not using the correct URL to the file that is created for each Custom HTML / Text screen you create.

Hi Guys I'm getting the same error, not sure if I'm doing the fix correctly. My app is essentially 50+ HTML5 plugins and menu screens, so I'm hoping to sort out a workaround. The app was created 30th Dec 2012 which is after David's post above, but the content doesn't show, just the 'File not downloaded yet' message and the default background colour. It has been released for iOS since early Feb with no problem there and is only popping up now for android. I'm not a developer so I'm hoping I'm missing something quite simple. I've tried David's suggestion above, refreshed in Eclipse, and re-ran the app but no joy after several attempts. I tried clicking save on multiple property sections to update the JSON data. If I can impose on your good natures: What would be the steps I need to do to sort this out?

@Diagno: Yup, I'm wondering the same thing. Are you still having trouble with this or is it working as it's expected...like it used to in Feb? I haven't heard of any other troubles with this plugin but can look into it further if needed. It's a matter of figuring out where you content is and if it's not loading because of something on our end?

I tried using the HTML plugin for simple text and got the 'File not downloaded yet' warning in the emulator.

Hi Guys, Ah gee, I have to apologise here. Pretty soon after my post I picked up a web site design project and haven't had a chance to get back to the app since. I wish I could provide some follow-up; I'll report back once I get to get onto it and play around with it.

I hope nobody minds me hijacking this thread but I am suffering the same problem as Diagno. In a new app all the HTML5 plugin pages (65 in total) often suffer from the 'File not downloaded yet' error and I was hoping David or someone at BT could help out. This is an intermittent problem although the pages fail more often than load. BT 2.0 BT hosted Android What I have tried (in no particular order): David's suggestion above Creating new HTML pages and replacing the problem ones Download sourcecode and relaunch in emulator Update config.txt and relaunch in emulator Create completely new test app with HTML5 plugin page - same problem! When it fails I see this entry in LogCat: BT_screen_customHTML: ERROR loading from cache after download: https://URL of file on BT server.html I have checked the URL of the file on my laptop and it loads fine in firefox, IE & chrome browsers every time and on repeated refreshes. Enabling caching of the page helps but this only works once the page has been loaded for the first time which is VERY hit & miss. I have also added a reload page button but this is clunky and not a fix just a desperate work around. Is there anything else I can try? Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is causing some major user concerns because it looks like the pages simply fail to load. Thanks in advance
