Adobe - Create the web tour

FYI - Adobe has a whole new suite of web tools called 'Edge Tools and Services' which is part of a new html.adobe.com movement. I attended a 3 hr dog and pony show on this last night they are calling 'Create the Web' tour. I as pretty impressed with a couple of the tools. Here's a link to tour schedule, there's like another month left of these events all around the US and some in the UK. http://html.adobe.com/events/ If you want to see some cool new toys they are building to make better mobile optimized websites, it's well worth the time. it was free, they gave out some schwag (had free food & beer too). if you can;t attend check out some of those videos, especially: This was really neat: Edge Inspect http://html.adobe.com/edge/inspect/ a tool to test your website on multiple devices, simultaneously from a single device. allows you to inspect the doc on each device and edit as well, a lot like the google inspector. but this one was really amazing- Edge Reflow http://html.adobe.com/edge/reflow/ A gui app to develop responsive design websites. Coenrates who is one of the main develpers of this did the presentation. It's still in beta but will be out soon. There is nothign else like this out there. Your literally painting and moving divs around like objects. just awesome. and then Adobe BRACKETS which they want to be your new HTML editor. http://blog.brackets.io/2012/06/25/brackets-open-source-code-editor/ you can grab brackets here: https://github.com/adobe lots of new stuff, including a leaner flash called 'edge animate' and some new phonegap tools as well.

Very cool I like the concept of brackets. Quick edit and real time editing in the browser would really help to teach how certain code effects the site.

I'll never forget the day I was at a developer conference in San Francisco chillin' with the guys behind Macromedia. This was a very long time ago. They were showing off their new idea - they called it Flash. Some Adobe folks (suits all the way) came to their table and started asking some interesting questions. The rest is history. I have a recurring thought (constantly) about how amazing it would be to combine some elements of their newly acquired PhoneGap concepts with some of the buzztouch concepts. Having the resources of a company like Adobe would surely propel this crazy idea of mine into something not yet seen before. Really. I don't have a table to visit. I don't have a "flash" presentation. And I don't have a javascript-to-native mapping engine. But, I do have a fond appreciation of Adobe, their mission, and their products. Note to Adobe: "I can help you move the needle, email me anytime. I'm nearby and would love an excuse to get to the valley. Coffee's on you, I'll bring the plan." Out.

I'm still using a Macromedia branded version of Flash! RIP Macromedia, I used to have a whole collection of Macromedia event badges somewhere. I can definately smell some PhoneGap/BT integration. This might be the Adobe guy you need to talk to. http://coenraets.org/blog/ He is definately a part of the PhoneGap development team. He made this app and discussed the Phonegap API heavily. I chatted for a bit and *did* mention Buzztouch. He seemed intrigued, but it was late and other people wanted to ask questions. Phoengap can access device hardware easier than BT does, it was impressive how he demoed it. Here's the app he built to show it off a bit- http://coenraets.org/blog/2012/08/new-phonegap-api-explorer-available-on-the-app-store/ But everyone is trying to find a way to use dynamic JSON in apps. I hear and see it a lotnow that i pay attention to it. You DO have something here folks want and the CP is something I've yet to see someone else use. It's a good fit, i see why you would think so. a BT CP for a Phonegap app, it would totally work. Hit one of those Create the web events and we'll kidnap one of these Adobe guys afterwards. Take them to the bar and by the AM you'll have a deal in place. There are 2 in Chicago 12/5 and 12/6. Make a road trip, we'll get Warren up here to help.

hehe, I use macromedia fireworks every day! I hesitate to mention this, competition and all that, but there's a gui for phonegap called tiggzi. It makes it very very easy to work with json/xml api's from third parties. It doesn't create a true hybrid bt/phonegap app, but it's an easy matter to add the phonegap project to the bt project assets and use the bt custom url screen.

@mysps - I use the flash gui and have just started testing the beta html5/javascript gui. The flash gui has been out of beta for a while and is solid and so powerful, hopefully the html5 version will be just as good.
