git version control & github

Does anyone use git version control for their Buzztouch projects? And/or can you point me to really simple learning/tutorials for git and/or github. I was an Application Programmer for mainframe stuff so understand what version control systems are and why they are useful. But command line stuff puts me off and I'd like to overcome the apprehension and get some proper version control into my iOS and web projects.

A bit off point, sorry.. Have you considered bitbucket.org? It's not a requirement to open source your code for a free plan.

Thanks again. Your link pointed me to http://sourcetreeapp.com/ :) No command line needed. :)

Ah, nice one! I think Atlassian are responsible for both? Should make it easier anyway. If you decide on using command line drop a post in this thread, I can attempt to help.

I haven't gone through it yet but here's a timely tutorial on How To Use Git Source Control with Xcode in iOS 6. http://www.raywenderlich.com/13771/how-to-use-git-source-control-with-xcode-in-ios-6 I stumbled across it after reading an excellent couple of tutorials on the same website explaining certificates, devices, App IDs and provisioning in the provisioning portal and xcode. http://www.raywenderlich.com/8003/how-to-submit-your-app-to-apple-from-no-account-to-app-store-part-1
