AAAAAAAAndroid audio

Why is it so difficult to set background audio in custom html screen? Want to make an app of which this would be a key feature. How can i get sound to play in my app. Any suggestions welcome.

Lol. I know. Seriously need to invest in a mac but still think there must be some common way the wizards at buzztouch would have set out as android is a huge platform that now carries more users than ios. As posted by @GoNorthWest earlier this week 75% of smartphone shipped were android. Seems most everything is geared too much towards working perfect on ios and android is being left out in the dark a little.

Well just because more android phones are sold doesn't mean people actually use them more. I can't remember what I was looking/reading but like 80% of mobile web traffic is iOS. And there are a couple of other stats that go to show that people tend to use & by extension buy more apps then on android. Anyways I could talk about the advantages and disadvantages all day on both platforms. Sorry I can't help you with your audio problem, purely iOS here.

I tried to do this too - you asked in a different thread if I succeeded and I forgot to reply, sorry. In my scenario I didn't need audio to be backgroundand I managed to write a couple of lines of html that would play, but it stopped whenever the phone started to sleep. Then I gave up. I ended up making the audio into a video and using the AT53 video plugin to play it. What we need is a decent audio plugin. Anyone close?

Yep no debate as it could go on forever. No doubt ios appears to be the platform to be making apps for. Its just buzztouch is such a powerful tool that it seems something like adding audio to background should just work. Anyway i won't give up. I will soldier on till i work something out and when i get it once it will be great. Thanks

It played until the device went to sleep. The device sleep timeout on android is twiddled under settings I think, so ultimately it is different for different devices. btw, I think when I tested background audio, it did play on a friends Nexus, but my old froyo 2,2 phone didn't like it. It might work on Android 2.3? I know you aren't self hosted so I am not sure if this helps, but I did have some succes with this plugin https://www.buzztouchmods.com/downloads.php?cat_id=1&download_id=39 Problem for me was the visuals. Good luck, Alan
