Morning all! Updating HTML content...

Can HTML content be updated after the app has been bought on the app store. I'm pretty sure it can because the app talks to the Buzztouch servers and would want to refresh recognising a change... How does that work with apple though. I mean surely you could develop a perfectly legit app just to get through the approval process and then just change a bunch of screens that you know wouldn't get through approval. (I'm not thinking of doing this by the way... just wondering how apple control content on apps that talk to databases?) Just a thought.

Happy Monday. By all means, almost anything can be changed if it is online, even adding images if they were included in the original app submission. Buttons for future screens etc. To answer your question though, yes if you reference external HTML on your site/server that can be altered after the fact. Apple don't really monitor apps that are live in that way but if you do add screens that they don't allow you are always running the risk of having your hand smacked or dev account cancelled. Say a Paypal option for instance. Hope that helps.

Is Paypal not allowed? I thought the only issue with payments was if the item being purchased enhanced the app? (i.e., buying a ebook to be read in the app). Paypal or other could be used for, say, donations - right?

I'm sure i read somewhere that Apple will not allow payments directly within apps using paypal. You have to re-direct to a web interface.

Not sure if this is still the case but I do know that additional App content must IAP. 11. Purchasing and currencies 11.1 Apps that unlock or enable additional features or functionality with mechanisms other than the App Store will be rejected 11.2 Apps utilizing a system other than the In App Purchase API (IAP) to purchase content, functionality, or services in an app will be rejected 11.3 Apps using IAP to purchase physical goods or goods and services used outside of the application will be rejected

So donations would come under... 11.3 Apps using IAP to purchase physical goods or goods and services used outside of the application will be rejected So redirecting to a web interface would be the way round it rather than IAP.
