Hello from Sweden

Hello all, User from sweden that want to start to learn about building android apps. Tried many sites and Buzztouch feels best so far. Just missing rss feed plugin :) (been reading other ways to get it going and so on) Hopefully I will stick around and learn how to build some great apps.

Welcome TForsman You have indeed found the best app builder around. Lots of super helpful folks on here who will help when you get stuck. I recommend reading as much as you can in the how to's section as lots of great guides to get eclipse etc set up by @GoNorthWest. All the best

Thanks for the warm welcome. Hopefully eclipse is setup right :) As run works as it should and phone accepts the app to test it. (just the key thingy for market might give me a headache) Been looking at howtos just a brief of time, but will spend more time there soon :) First feeling about everything, everyone using Windows and mac? No lovely Linux users around to make me feel more home? ;)

I found the guide at myskylla.com helpful for installing the keytool in eclipse to set that stuff up. You may want to check that out also

Hi @TForsman, Welcome to buzztouch! Quite a few of my ancestors are from Sweden! Please don't hesitate to post in the forums with any questions you might have. And give this link a read to know what you need to get up and running: http://www.buzztouch.com/files/howtos/Things_You_Need_Before_You_Start_Developing_Apps_v1.0.pdf If you're a Linux user, the Windows instructions should get you going, just use the Linux versions of everything for Android. Mac requires an Apple box either way. Looking forward to working with you! Mark

Welcome to BT. You will get few posts on how to integrate rss in your bt apps. Mark has prepared lot of how to's which should get you started. You can find those guides in the how to's link above this page along with guides created by other bt users. Another good resource for new users is definitely myskylla.com.

Thanks, the major problem I hit is that splash screen wont show. Maybe used a bad pic for it. Need to dig into that when im home from work. (added in themes and screens) So far im very pleased about Buzztouch. Thanks so far.....

Howdy, I'd not focus on the splash screen to start. That particular screen seems to cause a number of issues, and isn't the best way to start your buzztouch experience (in my personal opinion). I'd delete it (and from the themes section as well), and focus on the rest of the app functionality. You'll make much faster progress that way. Mark

Well i think you might have not named the splash image file properly thats why you are not getting it shown. Remember that the file name should be case sensitive. I had no problems having a splash screen either on bt 1.5 or on 2.0. The only thing i take care of is to create images for splash of 2 different sizes i.e. 320x480 and 640x960 and i always name it splash.png (small one) and splash_lg.png for the bigger one.

Another good tip is to add folks like @GoNorthWest, @Sandeep, @David and many others you will meet to your following list as you will be surprised at how much useful information you will get that way.
