Images do NOT work

Images do not show up in tab layout bar, or in menu buttons. Have tried everything, including all the posts form everyone else with the problem - but no solution. Have tried a range of sized from 24 to 80. Have tried my own icons and have purchased some, none work. The only thing I notice is that while they are in my images file in buzz touch - they are not in the BT_Images file when I compile and then download - and they are not in the BTImages file in xCode. I have tried recompiling and downloading 6 times now - no change. I have tried copying them from my computer - that doesn't seem possible. Only progress I am making is I now get a ? in meuntu buttons - but still nothing in layout tab bar.

You need to manually add the image files to your Xcode or Eclipse project. It doesn't matter of you have uploaded them to your control panel - you stil need to manually add them to your projects. For Xcode, drag and drop the images that you have on your computer onto the BT_images folder of your xcode project (see screenshot below). When prompted, click on the box that says copy in files if necessary. Then clean the project and run it again. https://www.evernote.com/shard/s2/sh/bab1989c-38a6-4827-abda-458617ff91fe/611a32b9d312aa5d4bffaf34b1e855e6 For Eclipse, copy the image files into the /res/drawable directory of your project and you shoukd be good to go. Clean project and rebuild. Let us know how you go.

Thanks - that worked. I am not sure why they show up red in Xcode - and I think I still have a sizing issue and transparency issue to work on - but at least they showed up. (This can be frustrating - took me two days and still could not figure that out.) Thanks for the help.

Hey no worries, glad you've got it happening. If the files show up in red in xcode it usually means they haven't been added correctly, or been moved, or somethings happened to make xcode cranky! Just right-click and delete them and add them back in as per the instructions above and you should be ok. More info on icons etc here: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#documentation/userexperience/conceptual/mobilehig/IconsImages/IconsImages.html

Also, if you see issues, make sure you check the debug console in Xcode. It gives you TONS of information on what's happening. If an image isn't showing up, it'll generally tell you why. Mark

One more question. I changed the app Icon - bjut the old one still shows up. I have recompiled, and old icon is not in images - but it still shows in the simulator. New one shows in iCode screen where logo's are - but not in simulator?

So you've changed in the images in the BT_Art folder? Then cleaned the project and rebuilt? Try also to reset the simulator ... that's often a problem if it's caching some application data.

Making progress. When I try to test it on my phone, however the build fails because code signing is needed. NO idea what that means.

Hi Roy, In order to run your app on a real device, you need Provisioning and Development certificates. To get those, you need to join the Apple Developer Program at a cost of $99/yr. Then you create, download, install and sign your apps with those certificates. Here's a good tutorial on how to do that: http://btugwiki.com/index.php/Code_Signing_Basics Mark
