Xcode cannot find the videos but they are in the project

Hello Guys, One problem that I have often with my buzztouch app creation is xcode telling me that it doesn't find a video when it is there. See for example that screen shot : http://cl.ly/image/063H3y3L3u1y You can clearly see up left that the file intro.mp4 is there, but in the bottom right the error msg says that it's not. In fact I have that trouble off and on since month and only on video files, I had that with 1.5 and now I'm doing my first 2.0 I have the same thing. Usually this happens if I run my app in the simulator and forgot to copy a certain video file, I copy the file afterwards and then xcode says it's not there when it is, I can even watch the video from xcode. The way I have solved this is by erasing all the videos and putting them back, but that works some time some time not. Or by changing the extension to MP4 or mov and erasing and putting them back. Same thing sometime that works some time that dont. I must be doing something wrong, but I can't figure out. tks for all your help, Serge

Hey Serge! The only thing I can think of is how you are "copying" the files into Xcode. Are you allowing Xcode to make a copy into the project folder, or is it just linking to your source. I personally always click the "copy" option when I drag something in. Another thing I've heard of before (but never experienced) is some people have better luck by adding the file by doing a "New...File..." selection from the menu, rather than dragging into the Xcode window. Good luck, and let us know if you figure it out. -Chris

Hello Chris, Funny you answered I was a few minutes ago listening to your podcast. Really great stuff by the way, very professionally done and very useful ! Well, I erased all my videos and use the Add files to .. and it worked ! So tks a lot for that. By the way, is there a way with 2.0 apps to duplicate them if you want to change some photos and videos, but in an easy for newbee like me, if so do you know off any tutorials around ? tks again chris ! with 2.0, I can totally help you out. Much easier than before thanks to the JSON snippet keeper plugin. Check out this video (when you get a spare 34 minutes, lol) and you can see how I use it to replicate parts of apps. http://idevdepot.com/video-json-snippet-keeper-plugin-introduction/ I'm planning on making a more targeted video that shows just how to duplicate apps, but haven't had the time recently. BTW, loved your photos you were taking while showing Scott Kelby around. That must have been an amazing adventure.

Ha! I love it when Scott puts on his cowboy voice and say "We call him Serge Ramelli in the States". Good stuff.
