I am seeking assistance in getting my 1st app launched. I am not understanding how to install eclipse and getting to the point of acquiring an apk file. I would appreciate some assistance on this. I spent 2 days this week, trying to follow one outdated tutorial and YouTube video after another. Installed 4 times (un-installed 3 times!). Mac OSX. I finally went with Eclipse IDE for Java Developers Version: Juno Service Release 1 . I found the 2 steps to Install New Software - SDK and AVD - to be particularly 1990s. A version of Mac OSX Eclipse for making Android Apps should be configured from the get=go. This business of needing to edit lines of code in order to export is equally 1990s. Why should I need to manually edit debug=false!!!! If a window can give me a warning that I have debug=true, it can give me a button to click to change. My current obstacle is having a Google Maps API Key that isn't working with the AVD to run my App to see how well it (isn't) working. Comments Me, too.
