Shopping cart enquiry

Hi. I was wondering if anyone knows how to implement a shopping cart with Buzztouch? This is with or without an API module to link to an external system. I found a way utilising the custom HTML page to create a shopping cart, with refining some of the terms and adding in quantity with an add to cart option. This is quite basic. The idea is, once you press, Add to cart, it will link to a backend. I'm currently looking at options for that. However this is mainly in reference to a proper professional shopping cart with HTML integration so i can place this and customise into the Custom HTML/Text screen. I've seen Opencart, Magento but these all seem as e-commerce based platforms from the beginning and i'm looking for a link between a HTML shopping cart and Buzztouch. Thank you for anyone's response.

Hi General, The closest we've got that relates to plugins is the In App Purchase plugin: http://www.buzztouch.com/plugins/plugin.php?pid=16E7586E9E8D437768AEE84 Do a search for shopping cart, you'll get a lot of threads with the same question, maybe you can get some useful information there? :-) Cheers, David https://buzztouchmods.com

Hi MrDavid. Thank you for the reply and information. Just wanted to say thanks firstly for your contribution to the plugins, i read you've added into the plugins page. I've got one of the plugins from Buzztouch and it's great. I've read about the shopping carts, not many threads, i've also taken a look at open source ones but have not found anything specific in reference to HTML integration. Ideally i just want to create a custom HTML page with a decent looking shopping cart. I've created something basic but could be better. i've seen the In App Purchase. There's nothing complete on this that i've found. If someone created a plugin for a shopping cart then that would be amazing. Any suggestions?

Have you tried mobi-cart.com? It looked pretty cool when I stumbled upon it about 6 months ago!

Yep. Mobi-Cart seems good with Zooz integration, however it's a full E-commerce based solution. I've already started my app with Buzztouch. I want to add something directly with the Buzztouch screen custom HTML/Text. As that's the best way i presume.

Try maybe a wordpress site with a mobile ecommerce plugin? That way, you could just use a web address plugin within your app.

Hi. DKeller thought i'd send MobiCart an e-mail. It's practical. Let's see the response.

I'll take a look at the Wordpress site. I have an idea of what you're saying at best so i'll see if there's a direct plugin, then apply that directly to the app. I presume you mean with a custom URL plugin so it has the online content present once it's linked to another screen?

I would use the In-App Purchase. You could integrate this with the app, whereas making a website will means that it will work externally. This increases the chance of the app being rejected by apple. Couldn't help noticing though that you're a UK member! So I thought I should let you know about the UK Meetups I'm holding. It seems that you defiantly are a member who contributes to buzztouch quite a bit, so I thought it would be good to have you along! So here is the forum thread with more information with this: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=E10955880961A22A2111A58&tid=E10955880961A22A2111A58

@General App. I too was looking into using a shopping cart but like you I found that none seemed quite suited to what I was trying to do. I have something im currently working on which is a complete html form which also gives a shopping cart like summary with total price of order etc. Very close to getting it to do everything i want and will update you once i get a full working form going. Can i just ask how many products you plan to sell from your cart?

Hi, I use Shopify, they have different themes for web and mobile, I have linked the store to a page in my app by using custom url, below is a screen shot of the first page http://dl.dropbox.com/u/50030786/photo.PNG have a look at the store here http://32gi.myshopify.com on the web and then on a mobile device to see how it automatically adjusts to the device being used.

Hi. @Annandale Apps, would love to attend. Unfortunately around 4PM i'm occupied usually. Best would be morning and if there's something then i'd be happy to attend and listen to everyone's input for this brilliant development platform.

@Mr stuck, that sounds brilliant. Seems exactly what i'm looking for. There's about 7 screens, each with 5-10 items each. I'm planning on having my basic add to cart on each of those items.. Would be great if there was a pop up or plus button on each item within those 7 screens so the user doesn't have to go to each item and select, which is reasonable.

@kaybee. This seems like a more specific solution to what i require. Thank you. The website is helpful and informative. I noticed i could specify my app to work with HTML as it's supported with Shopify,, although i suppose you chose custom URL because it's just easier to link directly within the app? This seems like a practical solution. Think i might give this a try.

I noticed it also has a payment gateway system, this could answer my second question partially. The Barclays one is for UK and is what i'm looking for. ** I do need a backend access point where the restaurant can login and see a dashboard of open orders. That's the only remaining aspect. If someone has that figured out then awesome.** If i have that i can start to work on the above and not look at the other solution i had which seems good but heard it's very expensive.

The form i am referring to is a html form which is broken into categories. Everything inside each category is hidden. When the user clicks on a category they get all the options displayed for that category. They make selections simply by checking a box at which point they are then presented with a quantity box to insert how many of that item they want and also a dropdown box for that item for any options required for it. There is no add to cart as its a form however there is a cart like summary option so once the user has selected all the items they click calculate which then gives a complete summary like a shopping cart detailing all the items, prices, quantity and a total price for it all. All in all it behaves similar to a shopping cart but its kind of hard explain it in words. Hope to have a full working demo in next 5 days or so or sooner. Once i do i will post you the url so you can see what i mean. I think its better and you don't have to add the same item one at a time. You insert the quantity and its all worked out at final order calculation.

Its not my own invention. Im working towards a solution with an online form builder. I have given them some ideas and they have been top notch in their support and we are making strides towards a good solution now using custom css and logic to achieve what i am aiming fir. I am trying to build a form for takeaways so customers can order direct through the app. Im aiming fir something that will look similar to what you get when use justeat.co.UK on a mobile.

When I finally get it all working and a demo set up I will contact you with all the info on how to make it. As for price , we are all friends here on buzztouch so I will charge what I get charged for Info in this forum, nothing, zip, nada, free. You would of course require to pay the form builder site their monthly fee but this would give you unlimited forms which can only be a good thing if you plan to carry on making lots of apps. If however you mean you would like me to build a form for you then I will discuss this with you at a later time. One step at a time for now though. Lets see if i can get it set up and see if its what you need before we get ahead of ourselves. All the best

Remember, one thing about using In-App Purchases, is the fact that Apple will take a great big chunk of 30% off your original price. Forget what I said earlier; use what the other's are suggesting.

I was just working with a client on a WOOCommerce store plug-in. They are still building it, but it was a wordpress plug-in and had a huge commnity and support. Looked free and easy. I also really liked storenvy.com when i looked at it a while back. free compared to shopify, which is a great service but didn't like their pricing.

Hi people. So i'm continuing making this app. As i'm progressing, @Kaybee Shopify is an awesome product. It's exactly what i want. I now have to upgrade.. As i have now found the solution for making a shopping cart. Does anyone know, this should be the last step, but how to have a login for a back end user at a restaurant to see open orders? @Kaybee maybe you've found something in Shopify? This is perhaps the main step in this app creation, so far i've designed the app, started to integrate a shopping cart, this is the last component. Thank you.
