Best Way To Insert Text?

Hi everyone, Continuing in my efforts to make my apps nice a user friendly, I'd like to know the best way of displaying text in an app. Something like a chapter in a book. I'd like the information to be cached for offline use to make the app fast and easy to read. Should I use Custom HTML / Text or HTML Doc plug ins? How do I best set this up for the pages to be downloaded with the app? Kind regards, John

I would suggest HTML Docs and include them with the build.

I create a menu item that points to a page of type html docs. That points to an actual html file. When I release the app, the html file is in the xcode build, it loads offline, no problem. This is as per @Crown Solutions suggestion and if the app is completely offline, that will work well and job done. If you plan to update the app 'over the air', I have a small variation. If you want to update any of the html files in the app after it has released, upload a replacement html file to somewhere of your choosing and then in the html docs plugin, change the link from file to the URL for your new file. The app will refresh with the new data and it can still be cached for offline use if you have the advanced setting set accordingly.

Thanks, AlanMac. I'm justing building an app now to see how it will work. I cannot use the Advanced Settings | Force Refresh settings as it deleted the content of the file. Someone told me that setting only works for iOS not Android, hence I am having to play around and see what works. Good idea, though. Thank you.

I would use HTML Docs for this. The advantage being it loads offline. This means that the app will work correctly without the internet, which for something like an iPad, can be very useful. Couldn't help noticing though that you're a UK member! So I thought I should let you know about the UK Meetups I'm holding. It seems that you defiantly are a member who contributes to buzztouch quite a bit, so I thought it would be good to have you along! So here is the forum thread with more information with this: https://www.buzztouch.com/forum/thread.php?fid=E10955880961A22A2111A58&tid=E10955880961A22A2111A58
