Hello from Ontario, Canada

Hey guys/gals, As of today I'm officially 1 year with Buzztouch.:) About me: In University I took computer science, after University I worked for a software company. I was there for a couple of years than got an offer to work for a Pharmaceutical company. Did that for 6 years. In the meantime I got married and have been for the past 3 years. This year I decided to start my own development company. I always had a development company on the back burner but this year I left the pharmaceutical company and started doing it full time. The experience thus far has been wonderful. With the help of buzztouch I was able to do applications a lot easier and faster then doing them from scratch. In the learning process at Buzztouch I met some wonderful people, and have felt that this is more than a forum but a wonderful community. Last but not least I'm thrilled and excited that I'm going to be a father in 2013 (April). STOKED! :) Hoping to introduce him/her to the buzztouch community.... and hopefully coding by the age of 2 :) Thanks again for being part of my life Buzztouch Peeps

congrats! at age 2 you'll be much happier to have a kid that naps so you can do some coding yourself (or napping) bold move leaving a job in that industry to go it alone in this economy! if only we had socialized medicine in the US to cover health insurance i'd have gone out on my own long ago as well....

Great story. I am always pleasantly surprised to learn about the vast diversity of the community - location, age, educational and employment background and the like. In spite of all the differences, one thing remains constant - the appreciation of the community and the willingness to help one and other. Oh, most importantly, congrats on the dad news. It will definitely change your life for the better!

Hi @coderx, Awesome getting to know you better! And what amazing news about becoming a father! That absolutely trumps anything you'll ever do at buzztouch (not that you won't do some truly amazing things though!). Fatherhood absolutely rocks, and you are in for the best times of your life. Enjoy every moment with your son/daughter, even if it means spending time with them learning how to code! Mark

@Raoul Crazy coincidence, Our buzztouch bdays are so close;) @Sandeep much appreciated thanks buddy @ATRAIN53 I hear that all the time (in regards to the kid sleeping instead of being up and crying..). so its true :) haha. As for the economies, its a bit different here compared to US. I dont think I'd be leaving my job if my location was in the states, thats for sure. But I hear ya on every aspect of it. @Stephen Mercurio thank you kindly @GoNorthWest I'm really looking forward to it, I do believe more than anything else thus far. Thanks:)

Hi ATRAIN53, I'm actually shocked that someone responded to the old posting like that. Thanks for that :) It was a girl, and we named her Breanna. As for the sleeping, the first month was a bit rough, BUTTT, as it turned out she is an awesome kid, the following months regular sleeping schedule from 9PM to 7AM. Can't complain at ALL:) My company sorta is secondary now. I got recruited by a College to teach a few courses, and now I'm a full time professor. Officially teaching in what else but programming. I still do apps here and there but its not the main source of income anymore due to the teaching position and the demand for updating material at the college keeps me away from concentrating on my own company. Anyways thanks again for responding and I hope things are going well with you as well.

Coderx, Not sure if you still check this site or not? I'm very much new at this...like most I feel I have a great idea for an app and now find myself looking to develop it with no previous programing knowledge and very little to do with the "proper" downloading of programs as previously the company I worked for had a very good IT department. Long story short I've been at it for 4-5 weeks now and I'm still having problems with the different programs needed! The more "youtube" videos I watch, the more confused I get, any suggestions?

allbrown, I do read this. Where are you stuck? And what environment are you coding in? iOS or Android? The more input the easier it will be to help you out:)
