Splash Screen URL/Location

Hi all, Wondered if someone could help. I have an app on the app store - been on for over a year now (thanks BT!!!) Just decided to change the splash screen settings, so instead of referring to a specific image in the BT_Images folder, I want to point to a URL instead; as I have rebranded the app. I have edited the splash screen and removed the contents of boxes Small/Large device name box and put in a url in the appropriate boxes instead (I understand you cannot have both). New image url: http://buzztouch.conyerstalkspace.com/appfiles/splash.png For some reason the app just ignores it and just loads the BT_Images file. Not sure what to do? Tried uninstalling/reinstalling app, and installing on an iPad - no difference. Kind of wanted to avoid repackaging and re-sending to app store if I could. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

With the app running, have you done an App Refresh? That should bring down the latest version of the config file, and hopefully load the correct image (the one from the URL). I'd also hit the "Configuration Data" link in your control panel and search for the splash screen section. Make sure a URL is indeed reflected there. Mark

The app says new content available and does a refresh but no change. Checked config and it has the URL in. The app just seems to be defaulting back. No idea why.

Hmmm. The only way to be sure what's going on is to hook your device up to Xcode, build and run the app, and see what's going on in the debug Console. That'll tell us if it can't reach the URL or something like that. Mark

Do you have the image url AND the local image file both listed in buzztouch? If so it always looks to the local file first. Just a thought...

Nope the local boxes are empty. That's what is confusing me. Grrrr. I just don't understand it.

Don't suppose someone could swap out a local image for a URL and see if they get the same issue?

I've even tried creating a new splash screen, in case something was wrong with the existing splash. Same problem. It is like it is completely ignoring it.

Sorted it - something VERY random. I noticed the default name was 'splash.png' I renamed the image in the url to 'splashiPhone.png' And...it worked! Sorted now :)
