There was a problem parsing some configuration data. Please make sure that it is well-formed

Hi. I seem to be having an issue in working with the app. I error message appears " There was a problem parsing some configuration data. Please make sure that it is well-formed ". Whenever i add something new, i cannot refresh as this error message appears so there are no updates. I have gone through the configuration data manually with JSONLint and checked the error. It's a /. I have changed this to what the information is supposed to be, a word. And then re applied my configuration data to the BT Config file. I then press Build for Testing. And then Run. It works for a moment with the update i checked. However then i receive the same error message. I check at JSONLint with the updated configuration data from Buzztouch and it's reverted back with the word, although incorrect line with a / again. This does not appear in my BT config file. However it only appears in the configuration data in Buzztouch. How can i amend so my app works? Thank you.

This happened to me too. The title of one of my screen's had an apostrophe. Specifically it was "palm's". The buzztouch server changed this to "palm/s" which causes havoc in JSON. If you too have an apostrophe for your screen title just change it and all will be right with the world once again. If you don't have an apostrophe, or other crazy character, I'm not sure how to help. Josh

Yep, you figured out the issue is with something in the JSON. You fixed it, it runs, and then you do a refresh, and it breaks. I'm guessing you changed the section in your local BT_Config.txt file, correct? That's why it works when you run it, but then when you request an update from the buzztouch.com server, the problem, which is still there, gets passed back to the app, and then you hit the error. So, you'll need to find out where in your app the problem is, correct it in your control panel, and then sync your configuration data files. Here's a link to a video that shows you how: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp2vL1XCPC0 Post back if this does or doesn't help! Mark

Hi. Thanks for the updates. I thought both would definitely help. And i know what the problem is. The Configuration Data file needs amending. There is an interesting issue. The Configuration Data file does not update whenever i make a change in the app. I wanted to change the forward clash to a new word without the apostrophe which will then update my BT_Config.txt file. Mark i tried previously to sync my Configuration data, it doesn't work. And i can't do that because the information in BuzzTouch is incorrect. How do i amend my Configuration Data on BuzzTouch because any changes i make in the app do not update.. I would really appreciate the help. Thanks.

I had a read over the help and although JSONlint helps with the errors and you can change from BuzzTouch itself, what if the changes you make do not update on the Configuration file? I saw the Plugin editor for $9.99 but don't want to pay to have something fixed, would see Plugins more as features. If anyone has any feedback, would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi @GeneralApp, If your configuration data file is not getting updated when you save a change, then that's a bug for sure that needs to be investigated. Are you on the buzztouch.com control panel, or self hosted? Have you tried something super simple like changing the title of a screen header and seeing if that works? Also, have you tried exiting your browser and coming back in, and then trying? Finally, what browser and version are you using? Mark

If i update, the Buzztouch Configuration File does not inform. The data is the same from previously. I look forward to a fix.
