Hi I wanted to add the refresh button to some of my screens in the top nav bar, but when I click the refresh button nothing happens. I can honestly say I have never seen it work in any of my apps when I have added. Does this button actually work when you select as a top right button? Not sure how to get it to work. That's it. There is no functionality associated with the button. You then choose a screen to open when that button is pushed. If you want that button to do something other than open a screen then you will need to do some coding which, unfortunately, I can't help you with.
